Well, for the time being, we're all still employed. However, the guy from management in San Francisco that flew down here in August and said our office was on the chopping block got laid off. The irony of that was not lost on any of us.

That's what my company would qualify as part of a "Change" campaign.
"Change" is the new buzz word in my company. It just means one day this and the next day we do the opposite.

Two month ago it was "Lean"
4 month ago "Hay grading"
Before that "Balanced scorecard"

Indeed! Tomorrow will be my last day, and then I don't go back until Jan 5th. I've brought home loads of marking, but I figure if I cram it all and do it over 3-4 days, I'll still have a bit over a week to myself. w00t!

The entire company just took a 20% (or more) pay cut starting Jan 1.

Grumble Sweat

Looks like it's top ramen for lunch the next year.

We had a terrible snow storm, at least three feet of snow, and the admin wouldn't let us leave. The buses were cancelled, and students were dismissed at 11:30am, but still we couldn't leave.

It took my an hour to get home when it should only take 10 minutes. My car got stuck in the middle of the road right in front of my house (so close!) and it took me two hours to shovel it out again. Shake Head

Maybe you need a different kind of "car".

Look on the bright side. A 20% paycut is better than a 100% paycut.

true, but on top of last months pay cut, i might have been better off if they laid me off. Adding severance and such, I think unemployment would have paid more. rofl rofl

One of my neighbors has just that, and rides it in our field in the back. I was admiring him from the window today (no, I'm not a stalker, I was just out feeding krim).
