waaay too thick. and it's like they kind of mumble to get this natural serious feeling thing. and speak really quick too. I just saw Shaun of the Dead (the horror movie) and understood it just fine but this... Shake Head

Beaten

might give Hell's Kitchen a try. always loved anything that has to do with food. Top Chef's season just ended. did you see it?

don't really get why people like Law&Order. Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, and Family Guy are my favorite right now. the last family guy episode where they brought in the brain-dead horse as the new house pet was really funny.

no secret ingredient, they were asked to cook the best meals they could for the finale. but there was a surprise protein challenge. Since it was in New Orleans the proteins were red fish, crab (are crabs protein?), and alligator. yup, aligator. wonder what alligator tastes like

thx Eve! it's Shibasaki Kou Smile

Crab and shellfish are protein for sure.
Alligator tastes like a slightly fishy, chicken.

Kou looks stunning in that pic! Thumbsup

Yup.

I've had it at the Ragin' Cajun... Sorta briny-flavored chicken.

I'm not too keen on the spinoffs (SVU, CI), but the original is great... And it's been on 19 seasons. Victory! Peace!

wew that's nasty (in a good way). you guys have actually tried it? so it's not that uncommon i guess? now i'm curious

it lacks a certain hip kind of feeling (i'm not making sense am I?). but of course they're not targeting such segment, i know it's more of the serious side. I just saw the season premiere of Castle; it's got murder cases (eventhough it's rather light) it's got cops, and the casts are not young but it's hip. I like it waaay better than Dexter, which i don't like at all.

Alligator is fairly common in Florida. And sometimes very tasty. Depends on who cooked it.

DExter was the creepiest show Ive seen in a long time... I couldnt watch the entire first episode. Shocked Apparently I dont want to know about a serial killers rituals. Shake Head

Sounds like you're looking for more style than substance...

I really like the straightforwardness of Law & Order: it's all about the investigation and prosecution of crimes... No soap opera crap about personal lives and loves, just the meat and potatoes. Victory! Peace!

I think thats why my Mom likes it. She's a business lady not a soap opera fan.

In case people based in the UK didn't realise, BBC4 are just about to start a Japanese season http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/japan
I don't think there is anything about j-dramas, but there seems to be a good mixture of documentaries and films, including Beat Takeshi's wonderful Kikujiro. The documentaries may be available with the BBC's iplayer, but I think it is restricted to UK IP addresses.

I've never understood why people still watch Law And Order.

CSI and all it's incarnations is -- okay, trying to avoid sounding judgmental -- crap.

Life

Top Gear

The Big Bang Theory

That's pretty much my weekly line-up. (Not counting News and Politics)

Though I do love watching The Food Network Challenges. Watching these big time chefs and pastry chefs from all over the world creating these amazing works of art out of cake, or chocolate, or sugar. Jeez!

I love the cake challenges especially. The artistry is unbelievable.

My favorite was the Halloween cakes this year! But all of the challenges were remarkable. Applaud Applaud

Hmmm. I wonder if Firefox's ProxySel addon will overcome that? Twisted
