I haven't gotten the fixed one yet! I saw the first episode of First Kiss and I'm praying to gawd there isn't anything incestuous about this show... |
There isn't, don't worry! I wasn't that crazy about that show though because I thought Mio was too annoying.
Hoping to watch first ep of Shiroi Haru tonight. _________________

If so, you might check it out for some answers... | It's a new show for the spring 09 season, so only the 1st ep. has been aired. I don't want to create a new thread as it's highly unlikely I would watch another ep..

Is this the Horikita Maki show? The synopsis sounded ridiculous.
I have digged out Manhattan Love Story and it's pure bliss. But I am driving my colleagues nuts because I can't stop singing this stupid line from Tokio's ending song: Love Love Manhattan, Manhattan Love Love

Esther
I enjoyed Manhattan Love Story so much that I actually dug out a few of my favorite old episodes of Columbo to watch in between each of the last 4 or 5 episodes.
Eve
You're always welcome. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
Thanks to shin2 I got to watch Kacho-san no Yakudoshi
http://www.jdorama.com/drama.535.htm
I normally complain about over-acting, and silly over the top scripts... but this show was the whole other end of the spectrum. It was so low key, the misfortunes that befell the chief were so mild... there were times that I completely forgot that I was watching the show. And when I came back to it a day or two later, I really wasn't sure where I'd left off.
The show and the characters did grow on me eventually, and in the end I was sorry to see it go.
One thing that might have slowed me down. Hagiwara Kenichi was the star and I'd never seen him play anything but bad guys. Scary bad guys. And in this show, whenever his character forced a smile it made me think of a movie arch villain, smiling just before he went out to stab a puppy.
So I went to look for something else he had done, something else I might have seen, that would make me feel more comfortable with him playing the lead of a famly sit com. What I found was this report from a Japanese newspaper.
| Quote: | | Actor Hagiwara Kenichi (54) was found guilty yesterday at the Tokyo District Court on charges of attempted blackmail. He was handed down an 18-month prison sentence, as sought by prosecutors, though it was suspended for three years. Though he earlier challenged the charges, he said by fax that he will abide by the verdict and will not lodge an appeal. "Shoken" was kicked off a movie project last summer and later allegedly made telephone threats against producers, demanding he be paid his full fee of \18 million and dropping the name of a yakuza organization. He was arrested at his home four and a half months ago, with TV cameras capturing the scene. He made his name as vocalist of the "group sounds" band The Tempters back in the 1960s. He became a popular TV actor in the early 1970s. He was arrested for drug possession in 1983 and again for drunk driving in 1984. |
Geez!
Man, the one change I would have made with this show is, I would have had Nagatsuka Kyozo & Hagiwara Kenichi switch roles.
Oh well, a little late now. _________________
