That's the problem with the Rockets... they NEED to play great D in order to win. The Lakers just need it occasionally since their offense carries them for the rest.

When Houston gives up 100+pts, they almost always lose. Lakers can often get away with that. Sweat

Problem is, the Lakers seem to have been doing that a lot more often lately: giving up big leads... Eventually they're gonna floor it and find the tank empty. Sweat

Cleveland beats Atlanta again, 97-82... So far, every team has been a road apple for the Cavs. Sweat

Dallas loses again to the Nuggets, 106-105, after a controversial ending... But it was fun to see Mark Cuban pissed off. hehe

EDIT: Yao Ming is out for the rest of the playoffs with a broken foot...

That's really too bad ... Shameful Cry

It's too hard for guys that tall/big to stay healthy for a whole season + playoffs without some kind of knee, foot, leg injury occurring.

That sucks about Yao. I'd would like to see him battle it out with the Lakers.

RIP Chuck Daly Sad

No surprise to me: the Lakers come out soft and trail the Rockets, 50-35, near the end of the half. Shake Head

What a Jekyll-and-Hyde team. Grumble

Lakers were never in the game, down by as many as 29, and lose 99-87. Shake Head

A pathetic performance reminiscent of last season's Game 6 Finals against the Celtics. bleh

Sports media feeding frenzy in L.A. for the next couple of days... Sweat

Celtics surviving by the luck of the Irish, beat the Magic, 95-94, on a buzzer-beater by Glen Davis.

The series is now 2-2, going back to Boston for game five.

Looks like both teams from last year's finals are struggling.

Reasons to be concerned? Sure. But, it hasn't and shouldn't reach panic point yet .... as it is still very hard to image the Rockets winning 2 more for the series.

Difference here, Celts actually have a good excuse - no Garnett. Lakers should be at full strength with a healthy Bynum back.

Winning-shot or not ... the Big Baby is no little KG ... that's for sure. Bleah

^ Yeah, Bynum is back, but he's been totally ineffective... And Lamar Odom was hurt and didn't return to the game... Not that it would've made any difference considering how uninspired the entire team played. Sweat

Lakers delivering a major beatdown to the Rockets, 94-54, at the start of the fourth quarter.

About damn time. Grumble

EDIT: Final score, 118-78. Now back to Houston. Sweat

Denver beats Dallas, 124-110, and heads to the West Finals against the Lakers-Rockets winner.

Appears that the Nuggets are peaking at the right time. Sweat

Former Oklahoma great Tisdale dies at 44

By MURRAY EVANS, Associated Press Writer May 15, 5:27 pm EDT

Wherever Wayman Tisdale went, whatever he was doing, chances were he was smiling.

Tisdale was a three-time All-American at Oklahoma in the mid-1980s before playing a dozen years in the NBA and later becoming an accomplished jazz musician.

But those who knew Tisdale, who died Friday at a hospital in his hometown of Tulsa, Okla., recalled not only his professional gifts but a perpetually sunny outlook, even in the face of a two-year battle with cancer that took his life at 44.

gI donft know of any athlete at Oklahoma or any place else who was more loved by the fans who knew him than Wayman Tisdale,h said Billy Tubbs, who coached Tisdale with the Sooners. gHe was obviously, a great, great player, but Wayman as a person overshadowed that. He just lit up a room and was so positive.h

Jeff Capel, the current Oklahoma coach, noted Tisdalefs gincredible gift of making the people who came in contact with him feel incredibly special.h

After three years at Oklahoma, Tisdale played in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns. The 6-foot-9 forward, with a soft left-handed touch on the court, averaged 15.3 points for his career. He was on the U.S. team that won the gold medal in the 1984 Olympics.

As (sorta) expected, the Lakers defeat the Rockets, 89-70.

Next up are the Nuggets... With a lot more firepower and no injured stars. Sweat
