It's been a long time since I've last wished I could use torrents this much. I'll just have to hope for ddls somewhere, someday I guess.
On topic: Ie Naki Ko episode 6. It's actually keeping me quite entertained while I'm waiting to see what tragedies they can think of to throw at the main character (a sort of spunky female Oliver Twist for the 90s) next. Currently waiting for the inevitable
My network doesn't allow them. I know there are probably ways to get around that, I've just never bothered trying. I don't actually much like torrents, and can usually find what I want anyway, so most the I don't mind at all. "Most the time" not being right now.

That's usually the case.
I had an aversion to torrents at one time, but figured that was the only way to go to get drama 'n' stuff in a timely manner...

I've finished a couple of Winter '09 dramas.
Triangle, which after a promising start goes rapidly downhill. The main problem is the plot which is contradictory, nonsensical, contrived, badly paced, full of coincidences and is completely unoriginal. For a plot driven show, this is a bit of an issue. Characterisation was minimal, the cast spent most of their time explaining what was happening to each other. In all, it was a bit of an effort to finish.
Arifureta Kiseki was pretty much the opposite. Glacially paced and very subdued, but superbly written and acted with very naturalistic dialogue. There was a tangible sense of melancholy running throughout. You got the feeling the characters are real people leading real lives, and that they will continue to exist outside the confides of the story.
I think I'll try Iguana no musume next as the premise intrigues me.

I think that sums it up. More happened in a single of episode of Triangle than did in the whole of Arifureta Kiseki, but the latter was much more compelling. Sometimes less is more.

I think you are right. although i liked the drama but i thought it would have been much better if it was much lesser eps. and
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:
there is no point of killing off sachi's character by the end at all, it did not make any difference storywise
the pace was kind of slow so i was more looking forward to hearing its OST than actually watching what was going on. _________________

Yes, the pacing was all over the place, things really slowed down towards the end. I forgot to mention the music which was great and the best thing about the show for me.
I also enjoyed Arifureta Kiseki as well. Another great series from last season. While I was watching that series, I couldn't help but to continue one episode after another.

After you get done with that, might want to check out Ii Hitohttp://www.jdorama.com/drama.154.htm. Another of Miho Kanno's early efforts. Kusanagi is so goofy/naive in this. One of my favorites.

I've now watched four episodes and I do love it. A touching modern fairy tale. It has an excellent central performance from aforementioned Kanno Miho, who I've realised I've never seen before. I think I'm going to be racing through this one.

I hadn't watched anything since finishing Top Sales, so last night I opened my DVD folder and took out the first disc that I saw: which happened to be season 1 of Furuhata Ninzaburo. I watched the first episode - I don't know if it was because I was tired and full of 'flu or what, but it seemed really long and draggy. The Engrish subs didn't help either

Oh well, on to ep.2.
Sounds like the perfect cure for insomnia... Or the flu.

Turns out it wasn't season 1 at all - it was 1 of 3 specials that made up the last series. No wonder it seemed long. (My DVD player doesn't have a time display on it). There was only the 1 special on the disc. Oh well. I started watching Muri na Renai instead. Nothing like Natsukawa Yui to make you feel better

I thought episode 1 was the best of season 1, along with the last epsiode...
Did you finish Churasan 2-4? Not as good as the original, but still quite enjoyable.

Yeah, but what I saw wasn't season 1, as I said above.
I haven't got back to the Churasan sequels yet

I really liked that drama... A much more mature theme and fine performances, especially from Yui-chan.
Yui-chan is fabulous, as usual. And i'm loving it: I watched 3 episodes back to back
