If Tony Takitani has been released on DVD in Japan, I'd bet even money that it'll be on eBay... With subs. Wink

I bought a subbed Gun Crazy on eBay a year before the legit U.S. release ever showed up... Same for Twilight Samurai (Tasogare Seibei)...

yeah those popular films pop up quick....

So I just ordered a copy of Tokyo Elevator Girl subbed in English that's supposed to be "excellent" quality....I've never seen a decent copy whatsoever...I thought I'd take a chance...if it's better than my degraded copy which is practically unwatchable it will be a lucky purchase.

Yow, how did you land that?

Amazon? YesAsia? CDJapan? Freeway on-ramp?

Dude... Did you place the order already??

I think I know where you ordered it... And I've got a feeling their idea of "excellent" ain't the same as ours... Sweat

I wandered around their site and noticed that they also have Okusama wa Majo with English subs... On two DVDs with "excellent" quality. Sweat

My copy of said drama is also on two DVDs and the quality looks like a VCR recording copied to DVD... bleh

That said, they might not be the same, but if the screencap is representative of the video then..... Sweat

I don't doubt it will be TV-rip, I never thought otherwise, to be honest....because I don't think that series was ever released on DVD as far as I know...I'll just wait to check it out...it was a shot in the dark to begin with...if it's even a B- quality video...that's way better than what I have.

If anything, hopefully it's NOT the copy I authored and traded with various people over the past couple of years... Fingers crossed

A classic track from the drama: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TphRtZVTVRg Big Grin

Vocals by Miyazawa Rie... Great jazzy saxophone riffs. Applaud

Thanks, B-san! glomp

I wish I could have liked this show... Sweat

Review: 6/10

I'm not quite sure why I don't like this drama. At first I thought my dislike was based in my morals, but on further thought I realized that this is not the case. I mean, I'm the one who is 100% on Angelina Jolie's side in the whole Brad-Jen-Angie triangle. So why do I have such a problem with this drama?

ALL the actors/actresses did an amazing job, and the plot is intriguing. Even the cinematography had its "wow" moments. Miyazawa Rie especially stands out as someone I would like to see in another drama.

The only thing I can say is that I feel I've been lied to by the main characters. Tsukasa was portrayed as a naive, kind, caring female who you wish you could be like.

Yoshimoto was sensitive, gentle, and comfortable. You wished he wasn't married so that he could save Tsukasa from her miserable relationship with Shima.

Not cool.

He did save her... Sort of... And got caught in her orbit.

Oops, did I quote it?! I meant for the tags to be spoiler. lol!

I held on to Yoshimoto the longest... until we got to meet his family. Then it was just like "you're cruel, man".
