At first I did quite the same: when I heard them speaking english, I immediatialy turned it off and changed to watching Last Friends (which was the other one at my todo-list at that time). I'm glad I did 'cause Last Friends was really awesome. Had to order the DVD right after.
But back to topic.. few months ago I gave it a second change and I was happy to do so. It was quite enjoyable. Not in most touching way, but still I found myself watching more and more episodes at one time. I think most of the appeal of the show came from her acting.

Really?? 
I found Last Friends to be frustrating and disappointing to watch... But that's for another thread.
