Started watching Edison no haha. It was fun and I laughed a few times. Reminded me a little of when I was a kid. The casting of Sakai Maki as the mother was really good, I thought. She was unlike any other Japanese mum I have seen on tv.

Edison no haha episode 5. I thought it was going to be a human drama about the handling and development of the prodigy, but it actually turned out to be more about education. The kids are fun to watch, and I really like the relationship and interactions between Kento and his mother. There was a lot to think about for me, almost every episode, but the teacher's part of the story was not that interesting.

Edison no Haha episode 6. What a crowd-pleasing episode.
The things kids think about can be so surprising and funny sometimes, and their optimism and spirit was infectious in this episode. ^__^ I got a big smile on my face all throughout that scene in front of the school close to the end. The joy of drama watching, how I have longed for you.

There is really something about people screaming at the top of their lungs about silly things... ^^ It reminded me of that scene at the end of episode 7 of Sexy Voice and Robo.

Currently re-watching Churasan with my sister. We're already on episode 100 and we only started watching about a week ago.
I was like that too.

I started that before but wasnt in a kid show mood. I think I need to see that again.
Watched the first ep of Gift. Intriguing.
I think once I wrap up with Nodame Cantabile, I'll watch the rest.
Or maybe I need to tune into this Churasan obsession..... _________________
Started Aishiteru. I usually steer clear of these heavy dramas, but it's gotten nothing but good reviews, and the ratings were quite surprising, so I decided to give it a go. I'm on episode two now....

Well described, it is an obsession. Just allow yourself some time before it really gets unstoppable. The beginning is a bit slow.
Oh ok, I'll keep that in mind!

After a bit of a break I raced through the last few episodes of Iguana no Musume. A modern fairy tale, and like all good fairy tales it's rich in allegory, in this case exploring the problems of adolescent shyness, low self-esteem, self-acceptance and also the emotional roller-coaster of first love.
The young Kanno Miho is simply brilliant playing the rather pitiful lead. She is able generate real empathy and acts everyone else off the screen. Although it didn't help that most of the supporting characters were somewhat under written. You also got the feeling that most of their issues could be solved by simply talking to each other a little more. But this is Kanno Miho's show, and worth watching for her performance alone.

Wow, you're back into dramas in a big way, imoto-chan....
Yeah, I'm trying to keep up with the new dramas while catching up with older ones. Although it doesn't help me that a lot of the dramas this season are detective dramas since I love those. _________________
I've been watching so much 90's dorama lately that I finally felt I had to go with something that was made during, uh, the last decade for a change next.
So my two current ones are Ruri no Shima (on episode 4) and Shikaotoko Aoiniyoshi (episode 3). Both seem interesting so far. I did think episode 4 of Ruri no Shima was the weakest yet, but even then it was still enjoyable.
