They started broadcasting it with subtitles on digital 18.2 last Saturday and it's pretty interesting so far.... |
Five episodes recorded... 19 more to go.

Isn't Miyazaki's new film, Ponyo going to be out soon?
They're screening it down here as part of some film festival... |
I'll be on the lookout for that. Thanks.

According to Wiki, the movie was released a year ago in Japan...
I guess it took another year to get it dubbed for release here in the States... I figure it must already have English subs, since it was an entry at Cannes...

Not on DVD... I think they'll do a theatrical release first.

Maison Ikkoku rocks!
I am a big Rumiko Takahashi fan.
I got hooked on Urusei Yatsura back in the early 90's.
Adored InuYasha too.
I am really enjoying SaiunKoku Monogatari more and more. Already through 13 eps. I love that for once the female lead is not annoying. She is motivated and an intellect. _________________

Sounds good. I read a little of the manga before and it was confusing. I think I will try the anime then.

The plot is pretty clear cut.
Probably doesnt follow the manga too closely. _________________

It is. I've reached episode 9 now and its still enjoyable. As I said it was quite light, so its easy to breeze through.

If you need it PM me.
I know, its amazing. And she doesnt fall down at ridiculous times. And she is not obsessed with falling in love.
Her goal is to be a Court Official who accomplishes things.
But all the cute guys helping her is not a bad thing either.
On ep 28 of 39. It is going fast.
Time for an ep now. _________________

Well Im just finished the 39th and final episode of Saiunkoku Mongatari.
Terrific anime.
Solid plotline had me absorbed more and more as the series wemt on.
The female roles were all smart and proactive.
The heroine was not distracted from her ideals despite the abundance of handsome helpmates.
I also enjoyed the Chinese influenced costume. Makes for a colorful scene.
Highly recommended. _________________
