New Tricks is great! They just finished showing season 3 here on PBS.
Rosemary and Thyme. Well. That's Felicity Kendal. 30 years old... 60 years old. I don't care. I'm still in love with her. I just bought the boxed set of "Good Neighbors".
The Mentalist is pretty good. A case of the lead carrying the show on charm alone. I wonder how long he can keep it up.
I keep meaning to watch No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency ... but I just haven't gotten around to them yet. On Demand makes you lazy.
@Geezer Yes, Felicity Kendal is younger than Springtime! Don't get me started on Brit shows from the past that I love. Too many to name!
Sorry I'll take Simon Burke on TV however I can get him. Plus the hunky Asian detective Kimball Cho played by Tim Kang is dreamy in The Mentalist!
It takes a minute to catch on to the accents of Botswana but No #1 Ladies Detective Agency is a gem!!! It is from a series of books by Alexander McCall Smith.
Speaking of Brit TV shows. I wish one of my TV channels would show Absolutely Fabulous or Ab Fab Dahling! again. Hilarious!!!
I forgot a few on HBO that I enjoy: Flight of the Conchords - A fish out of water series. Two naive guys in a band from New Zealand and their clueless manager and one female fan. Shot in NYC. Funny and musical!
And Entourage Four guys from NYC (or is it NJ?) trying to make it big in Hollywood, along with a ruthless talent agent. Sometimes funny, sometimes sexy. I'm sure guys love this show for all the nudity in it.
If anyone wants to watch a humorous TV show that is now in re-runs try the Gilmore Girls on both the ABC Family and Soap Net channels. Fast talking, caffeine addicted mother and daughter living in Stars Hollow, Conn. Mother, born of wealth but rejected it, runs an inn. The daughter student at Yale. Both named Lorelei. I want to move to kooky Stars Hollow with all of its' oddball citizens! Multi-ethnic cast that includes young and old actors. It reminds me of a J-dorama. Wonderful acting and great scripts! If you want to see some episodes go to: ABCFamily.go.com

Man, I loved Burke's Law. That is, until what... the 3rd season?... when they decided to make him a spy. I still prefer him as Bat Masterson. (Now who's dating himself?)
Never was a big fan of Bat Masterson. My two favorites were Maverick and Wyatt Earp.

"Have Gun..." was also a favorite. I loved everything from Hopalong to all the Warner Bros. Westerns that filled the air in the late 50s and early sixties.
I actually saw an episode Of "Have Gun..." for the first time in decades the other night. One of the local stations is taking advantage of all the old shows coming out on DVD. They're having retro nights, and they must have run a half dozen episodes of "Have Gun..."
The one I caught guest stared an innocent, bumbling young fellow named Charles Bronson. It was a trip. (It's sort of like seeing Hiroshi Abe as the young side kick in Watanabi Ken's "Baian The Assasin" series.)
And clicking randomly on shows I've never heard of (on Netflix) paid off again. I've just started watching "Wonderfalls", an odd little show that was on FOX TV back in 2004.
I'd never heard of it, and it was canceled after 4 episodes... but they made 13, and they're really terrific.
The show was made by the same guy that created "Pushing Dasies", and if you like that sort of quirky humor (I do) I think this is as good, if not better. _________________

Those are great shows, and both where cancelled far too early. In fact there is a crossover where a character from Wonderfalls appears in Pushing Daisies, and Lee Pace stars in both. Bryan Fuller, who created them was also responsible for Dead Like Me, which Showtime also cancelled far too early. A truely wonderful piece of television.

I really like Wonderfalls too, never failed to make me laugh, and the stories are so original yet never went off the rails with the many twists and turns.
I didn't know about Dead Like me and Pushing Daisies. Thanks for bringing them up!

I guess this is the best place to post this. It's not a Japanese program, but a program about Japan, to be specific, an episode of NOVA entitled "Secrets of the Samurai".

There was a show on TV last night - "Dance Your Ass Off" - a cross between The Biggest Loser and So You Think You Can Dance. I was embarrassed just watching the few minutes I saw. I went back to watching Lunch Queen

I saw that show! It's kinda of a cool ideal, but come on now no one should have to wear some of the outfits they wear....Some look like prostitutes
Has anyone seen that new show on lifetime drop dead diva?
I'm kind of torn, sometimes I'm watching it thinking, "Yeah, those were the good old days.", and then something will happen and I'll remember, "Yeah, the Mickey Mouse bu**shit. That's why I got the hell out!" But I still recommend it, it's great stuff.
