I can look East on Nordhoff from my apartment and the entire horizon is a solid brownish grey cloud.... normally that is a mountain about 8 miles away just past the Hansen dam complex where I play a lot of golf. The other side of the mountain is the center of the massive fire that leads to Acton. The entire town of Acton was evacuated. There used to be a wildlife preserve on that mountain where my daughter volunteered for a while. I don't know if it's still there but hope they evacuated if it is..... I'm pretty sure it's gone or it would have been on the news. I've been staying indoors for the last couple of days with all windows closed and AC going full blast.
