I watched the first episode of Ninkyo Helper. It was ok, didn't really blow me away, I'm hoping the drama picks up a little. Of course, Natsukawa Yui looked smokin'. She definitely plays a different role than I'm used to...

Yeah, she's a tough, all-business woman... I like. Victory! Peace!

I want to see that Victory! Peace! but I don't like this one Smap guy, amongst other Smap dudes actually.

Ah... I watched the hard subbed copy of "Kaze No Garden" from the timless fan sub group. And the subs weren't bad at all. In fact, I thought they were pretty darned good.

Are you talking about Kusanagi Tsuyoshi?

Since I first saw him in Star No Koi, I found him to be a terrific actor... not fond of his singing. Not to mention a great performance in that Violin drama with Kano Miho.
He may have given himself a bad image with his nude drunk appearance recently... but his acting is definitely in the A class. Looking forward to this drama.

    ralph

If you want to see Kusanagi and Kanno together again, I highly recommend Ii Hito: http://www.jdorama.com/drama.154.htm

I liked this one a lot. Kusanagi is so goofy and naive, sort of a smarter Forrest Gump.

I thought he was exceptional in Koi ni Ochitara... As was the entire cast. Victory! Peace!

That's kind of misleading. All the other SMAP members just have cameos. If you blink your eyes you'll miss them.

Yeah, that's weird hearing them mention a Japanese name and seeing something completely different on the screen. Sweat

Galileo 8-10... finished.
Some of the stories were quite interesting, but I kept getting sleepy while watching. Not a good sign. I probably would have stopped watching if Shibasaki Kou wasn't in there..

Ah. So that's it. hehe I just knew there had to be an ulterior motive for all that... assiduousness... Sweat

Shibasaki Kou was at her loveliest here among the three dramas I've seen her in, IMO. Good

^ Oh noes! Mr Green I couldn't stand her in GOOD LUCK!, lol! I all but excoriated her in the drama review I posted here and at D-A (http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_75858_0.htm). Victory! Peace! (Had to do some serious damage control when all those angry mechanics descended en masse, though. Beaten)

Well, I'm looking forward to watching ORANGE DAYS. (But of course, what I'm really interested in is Tsumabuki Satoshi, heh heh heh. Bonk)

@ Dave: I've been meaning to give NINKYO HELPER a try. I'm a SMAP fan, and I know there are a lot of Smappies out there who consider Kusanagi Tsuyoshi the best actor of the lot. Which naturally got me (as Alice said) "curiouser and curiouser..." Big Grin

OT:

Just did a re-watch of CHANGE. Much better the second time around, I'll say. Bonk

...And a re-watch of NEMURERU MORI, heh heh. T'was better the first time, methinks. Bonk Bonk

Yeah, she's very pretty. Her acting doesn't bring the house down, but it's good enough to keep you interested.

Next: Yasashii Jikan, ep. 1. I had heard good things but didn't remember any details, so I was really going in blind. I think I remember a link to Kita no kuni kara (besides the Hokkaido location)? It wouldn't surprise me, although the first ep is a little depressing.
