I've been listening to Tomoyasu Hotei's album, Electric Samurai and so far I'm really liking it. I remember listening to Battle Without Honor and Humanity from the Kill Bill soundtrack and wanting to find out more about Tomoyasu Hotei. Definitely liking this album and can't wait to check out more of his stuff.

Can anyone recommend some Japanese music with the same or similar sound to the visual-kei band Versailles...they don't have to necessarily be Visual-Kei style. They are kind of a Progressive Rock style.

Maybe you can find some suggestions on Last.fm? When you check the profile of a band, they list also similar or related artists.
I am a big indie/dance fangirl (blame the 80ties - The Smiths and The Cure, plus Norman Cook) and I check from time to time the Japanese indie charts.
Thanks, couple months old but still good. It's really hard to get much better than them, hope the youth of today discovers them, we know Nakata did. _________________
I posted this in the Stereopony thread, but I guess it belongs here too.
If you're in the US and are a fan of Japanese rock, you should consider going to the Japan Nite tour. The lineup & schedule for the 2010 edition is out. I'm super excited cause Chatmonchy are finally coming to the US. Though, Chatmonchy won't be coming up here to Boston (technically Cambridge, MA), they will be down in Austin, TX. I'm hoping I can go to that, but I'm in the process of switching jobs so I don't know what my schedule will be like.
