Well it has been years since I saw it. Somehow Bi grated in this series though for me.

^ Well, he does have a weird face. Like someone flattened/stretched it when he was a kid and it never quite settled back right. hehe The body is a different thing altogether, I'll say. Naughty He can dance great, too. Very limber. Beaten

Oh, but I could NOT stand his plunging, V-necked, printed tops on FULL HOUSE. bleh

COFFEE PRINCE was really a most enjoyable drama. Very 'feel good'. Loved the dear young man who was killed on his motorcycle after making that drama. Very sad. Also fell for the young actor who played the 'Waffle Man'. Very fetching and he was later in KINGDOM OF THE WIND I think, doing a very different role and had to bone up on his martial arts. I'll find the names later.

What?!?! which actor/character died after making the drama? Puppy Dog Eyes (sorry I don't know names... the musician/owner/gorilla/waffle/playboy/neighbor/etc please)
I recently saw CP because I heard that it had a great soundtrack... It was a bit too long for me since I'm used to Jdramas but I thought it was cute.

(Peggy, if I may... Smile)

The actor who died (Lee Eon) played Min-yeop on COFFEE PRINCE, the big brute of a teddy bear who was in love with Yoon Eun-hye's sister. The actor also starred in STRONGEST CHIL-WOO, his last drama before the ill-fated accident (died on his way home from the wrap-up party). He was just starting to make a name for himself. Another classic case of Gone Too Soon...

Lee Eon was the tall strong guy who lifted all the heavy stuff in COFFEE PRINCE. He was the 'protector' of the lead girl in a brotherly fashion. He was making a big debut in this drama. After the cast party when the drama was finished, he went home and then got out his motor bike to go somewhere and was found dead some distance from his bike. It was assumed he was victim of hit and run. He was not a drinker. Later there was talk of a deliberate act of murder. I imagine they will not drop that case even tho it was 2007 I think. He was a sweet young man.
The Waffle Man' was Kim Jae Wook. He played the role of a Japanese chap who was looking for his girl friend in Korea. He actually can speak Japanese very well. He was a model and showed promise as an actor. He has a certain something that makes him stand out but apart from Coffee Prince and Kingdom of the wind I have not seen him in anything else. OH!! no... I saw him in ANTIQUE KITCHEN which was a riot. I loved that. Very funny and unusual. He was a homosexual patissier and he was adorable and not at all silly. You would enjoy that drama.

^ Murder??!??! Shocked Wow, didn't know there was such an angle. Hope it isn't true, as that would be plain horrible.

The first time I saw Kim Jae-wook, I thought he was Japanese... Sweat Cute fella, esp. with his hair tied back in a half-pony. Naughty

Edit:

Sorry Peg, didn't mean to jump in needlessly. Beaten I thought maybe you had gone to sleep or something. (Wait a minute, what time is it over there??? Is it not past your bedtime, young lady??!?!?!? Yell)

hehe Hug

Yes I thought so too and I think that was what made him look different in the drama as well as playing the role as a Japanese. He did very well. I think he lived in Japan for some time when he was young.
He was rather delicious wasn't he? You must watch ANTIQUE KITCHEN if only tosee how he plays his role. He is really very good and you would want him for a pet. Sort of..

lol

Er, Kim Jae-wook as a pet? Would make a rather mean-looking pet, don't you think? Mr Green He'd probably just make some snide remark over the Friskies I put in his bowl. Sweat

ANTIQUE KITCHEN/ANTIQUE BAKERY, yeah I think I have that on DVD... or my friend does, or something. I should've watched it for Joo Ji-hoon a long time ago (back when I was still madly in love with the guy Beaten). Don't know why I put it off for so long. Maybe I thought the gay stuff would be too much for me to take. Sweat Anyway, should give it a try soon.

Honestly, I ought to step it up a notch, my K-drama watching. One of my 2010 resolutions. Bonk I could start with BRILLIANT LEGACY followed by YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL and IRIS. Then of course there's CHUNO, which I will NOT miss for the world. Yeah

Oh no... he was so adorable in CP, I loved his character Shameful Cry that is just sad. I really hope it wasn't murder either...

Kim Jae Wook... yeah, the waffleman had really good Japanese, I could tell since I'm fluent. I actually really thought he was a halfie because he sort of looks Japanese too, but I guess he's full blood Korean? He is one hot hunk if I may, haha. I can't see him as a homosexual though.

http://www.dramabeans.com/2009/02/remembering-lee-eon-through-his-youth/#more-4295

This is the dramabeans site but it is about Lee Eon.

Well you should watch ANTIQUE BAKERY .......First!!!

It is charming and the homosexual side will not intrude even tho it is part of the story.
Yes Kim Jae Wook would be a nice pet. He would be soft and cuddly and there is nothing feline about him. He would be perfect.

I'm going to bed.. it's 2.30 about. I'll never sleep.. I was looking at those latest pics of Takenouchi. I'll take the one with the water fountain.

Finished Witch Yoo Hee (Witch Amusement). A very strong 9/10.

I had to deduct 1 point
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:

And now I have the lovely pixiish Han Ga as a new member of my top 10 (or 20?) girls that I adore. In love

For anyone who delights in comedy romance and wants to walk away from a kdrama without depression this endearing drama is highly recommended. Applaud

Ralph,

I couldn't agree more with you about Han Ga In. I watched Dr. Kang because I'd liked her so much in Super Rookie. I watched Witch Amusement because I'd liked her so much in Dr. Kang.

She's a pip.

But it might be awhile before we see her in anything else. After the low ratings for "Witch Amusement" she committed a cardinal sin. In an interview she publicly blamed the director and the editors for screwing up the show, and said the poor ratings were their fault. (Very poor form in Korean Entertainment.)

I don't read much about Korean Entertainment, but those stories even caught my eye.

I don't think she's worked since.

Since she's married and her husband is a successful actor, she might have just retired, or she might be taking some time off. I don't know. But she was on quite a role there for a couple of years, and suddenly everything came to a screeching halt after she made her comments.

Geezer,

That is sad to hear indeed. I will just have to find whatever there is from before her mental blowout. She would have had a nice career in the Korean movie community.

Shameful Cry

But at least I still have Sung Yuri.

AIGOO! I know, right?! I was so thankful that they pulled those profanities half-way through.

@Ralph: Watch Coffee Prince next! You definitely must! But the time you're finished, I'll have sent you the next bunch, from which you then must watch Full House. It's definitely your type!

Wynter <-- so demanding. Beaten

Even before your demands, I already started watching Coffee Prince but got sidetracked with Witch Yoo Hee.... Now I bow to your command and will watch caffeinated all the way thru. I think when I started to watch Coffee Heir, I kept expecting Sung Yuri still being in One Fine Day mode.

Ahhhhh okies. Yoon Eun Hye, the female lead, is absolutely amazing. I was surprised to see that she was actually in a girl band or something previously and has quite a sexy persona. Completely different from her genderless quality in Coffee Prince. I'll have to show you some YT videos of her. You'll be shocked.

I see what you mean. She comes off very boyish in the beginning but I already detect the little girl in her. A very interesting drama. I'm amazed at the variety of female stars in the Korean landscape.

I'm double dipping. Decided to overlap Couple Or Trouble with
Coffee Prince.

Shades of Goldie Hawn.... Couple Or Trouble is the Korean version of Overboard.... This will be very interesting to see how they manage to stretch a normal time span movie into umpteen episodes; and to see how a Korean director treats this hilarious comedy.
