Actresses admired by girls
February - 7 - 2010
Itfs obvious that men like actresses, but itfs quite difficult to be successful without a great deal of support from the same sex as well. Entertainment magazine "Oricon Star" asked 300 of their female high school readers about which actress is able to unintentionally fascinate them; in other words actresses they admire the most.
They already dropped the name of the first place a couple of days ago for the Valentine Queen awards, itfs Kitagawa Keiko. "Her natural face in doramas is so pretty and her commercial entrance me all the time as well." She currently seems to be the top actresses regarding to girls and women in Japan. They voted her on the first place for "Best Dorama Heroine of 2009" and the 2nd place in the "Ifd like to have a face like her" ranking a while ago.
Kitagawa had her actress debut with the movie "Mamiya Brothers" and her biggest highlight so far was the role as the heroine in the getsu-9 dorama "Buzzer Beat". People are used to see her with a lot of make-up when she works as a model, but her natural good looks that she had to reveal as an actress scored her many points with the female viewers. "In doramas she almost wears no make-up at all and thatfs when shefs the prettiest." Good looks alone can help you, but they canft bring up to the top. Fortunately she also has great charisma as you can see in all of her appearances on variety shows. "Shefs pretty, cute and stylish, but her character is good as well."
On second place is Shibasaki Kou and her impressive eye power. "Shefs cute and shefs cool. Especially her eyes are so beautiful." "Ifm so envious that she has a cute and a cool face at the same time." Thanks to her roles in various movies and doramas she got herself the image of a tough woman. However, even in real life she is often getting praised for her "core strength" / mental power.
Becky, who nowadays even works as a singer, ranked third place. The fact that she cut her beautiful long hair last year left a big impression among her female fans. "She cut her hair and became even prettier." Becky is also able to cheer up any mood with her lively character, her bright smile and her funny talks on variety shows. "Shefs extremely cute and you can totally see her character on her face."

Actress Naoko Iijima is taking on her first stage role next month in a play titled "Nancy," directed by Kazuya Yamada. She will perform with actor Masahiko Nishimura, whom she previously worked with on the 1998 drama series "Konya, Uchuu no Katasumi de."

Yasushi Akimoto launches "ojisan" unit OJS48
Tue, September 21, 2010 (11:00am EDT)
After finding success with AKB48's family of idol groups, producer Yasushi Akimoto is experimenting with a slightly different formula for a new male unit called OJS48. The "OJS" in the name stands for "ojisan," referring to the fact that the average age of the group's 16 members is over 60.
OJS48 consists of 16 former police officers and detectives. At the center of the group is 63-year-old Mitsuo Nakatani, who made his solo debut as an enka singer last October with the single "Naniwa Deka Blues." Working with Akimoto, he gathered 15 of his friends to form OJS48.
The group's debut single is titled "Shinkokyuu." It will be released on October 13, though digital distribution will begin on September 29. The official YouTube channel of Victor Entertainment posted the song's music video on Tuesday.
OJS48 will hold a free live performance in Osaka on October 16.
Actress Yoko Shimada (57) will soon make her AV debut, it is being reported. She already finished recording her first release this summer, and it will be released under the label MUTEKI, which specializes in celebrities.
Shimada's career peaked in the 1970s and 1980s, during which she appeared in many television shows and movies. She is perhaps best known for the 1980 American television miniseries "Shogun," in which she starred alongside Richard Chamberlain and Toshiro Mifune. That role earned her a Golden Globe award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series.
One source close to Shimada claims that the primary reason for her AV debut is financial. She apparently had accumulated a debt of more than 200 million yen at one point and even now is still facing trouble with her taxes. Another source has heard that Shimada is getting a 30 million yen guarantee for the video. Another rumor being spread is that her souring relationship with her husband also led to the decision to enter the adult industry.
Shimada once released a nude photobook in 1992, which reportedly sold 500,000 copies.
The release date for Shimada's video has not yet been announced.
