A huge 10/10 for My Girl. With great sadness I finished this sensational comedy romance in a marathon run until 3am this morning. Another drama that I wish could go on forever. And voila, a new love, Lee Da Hae.
The director and makeup dept did a good job since I did not find her at all attractive in the first few episodes.... quite subtly they increased her beauty until she almost ranks with Sung Yuri. I've notice this technique is quite common in kdrama comedy romances. They did the same thing in Princes First Love where I too succumbed to Sung Yuri's beauty that was masterfully increased with each episode.

I found both Hello! Miss and Green Rose available for d/l on Silent Regrets. I was hoping someone would mention either of those two. Now that you say Hello!Miss.... that will be my next drama.

GREEN ROSE isn't a romcom like HELLO! MISS, but a whodunit kind of story. If you remember The Count of Monte Cristo (made into a movie starring Richard Chamberlain, although the more recent one with Jim Caviezel will do just as well ), GREEN ROSE runs along similar lines -- framed hero given up for dead, he comes back under a new identity, vowing revenge, etc. -- and Lee Da-hae plays the Mercedes-type love interest. I enjoyed watching this drama because of the plot and solid performances from the cast. Lee Da-hae really impressed me acting-wise, and I think she did an even better job than in MY GIRL. So if you feel like watching a drama thriller (the villain here is terrrrrrrific, if I may say), GREEN ROSE won't disappoint.
After HELLO! MISS, Lee Da-hae did this melodrama ROBBERS, where she plays a widowed mother who gets conned by Jang Hyuk -- who happens to be -- oh! oh! -- terminally ill!!! I don't think you'd enjoy this drama for one second. (I only plodded through it for Jang Hyuk, whom I luurrrve )
Lee Da-hae's two most recent dramas are period epics, the mostly panned (and controversy-laden) EAST OF EDEN, and the mostly praised CHUNO / THE SLAVE HUNTERS.
So... as far as rom-coms go, you may have lucked out with MY GIRL. (HELLO! MISS may not be as universally loved as MY GIRL, but ocha4ever recommends it, so that's cool. Enjoy! )

Arigatou EG. I had already d/l the first episode of Green Rose and was ready to chuck it for fear that it presaged a bad ending. Now that you say Count of Monte Cristo.... which I loved, I'm completely in for the drama run. This is great news that I have about 40 or more episodes of Lee Da hae's wholesome visual chemistry to look forward to.
I also read the East Of Eden reviews and since she left the drama due to sickness, I already left it on the "not for me" shelf. BTW I thought at first that East Of Eden might be a remake of the American film East Of Eden in which I worked as an extra for over a month. Check it out if you want to see me sleeping in the one scene I was noticeable.:

Full House was good, but it sort of wore me out by the end.

And I have to put in... if you loved Abe Hiroshi's Japanese version of The Man who Can't Marry", you owe it to yourself to take a look at The Korean Man who Can't Marry. For long stretches they did follow the Japanese version page for page... but the Korean version is longer, and as they went on the actors and writers found a way to make it their own. It's as different from the Japanese version, as the Japanese series is from "As Good As It Gets", the movie that spawned the Japanese version.
I enjoyed these shows so much that I actively go out and hunt for other shows with the same actors, or writers. _________________

Initially, the EoE drama was marketed with the same Cain vs. Abel premise as the Steinbeck novel, but (according to reports) this eventually got drowned out by the convoluted plot developments during its tedious run.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on GREEN ROSE when you're through with it!

Evasive Inquiry Agency is still my favorite Korean show. One of my all time favorite shows. But folks were talking about romantic comedies, and I don't really list "Evasive" in that category. _________________
On episode 3 of Full House. It's an Ok comedy so far. I'm still in the thrall of My Girl... so it's hard to switch to a new cast. Thanks Wyn chan for all these great dramas. I'll be downloading Green Rose and Hello Miss while I watch Full House.

Having watched bits of and pieces of Coffee Prince and Jewel in the Palace, I finally managed to dl them. Both dramas had been on my watchlist forever ...
I'm falling off the cliff now. Suddenly I am triple dipping. Like a kid in the candy store, can't stop with just one candy..... will I get a stomach ache?
Episode 5 - Full House, episode 1 - Hello! Miss and Green Rose.
About Full House. I'm having a lot of trouble seeing the actor playing Lee Yeong-jae as a romantic figure. It's his upper lip. The way it curls up slightly gives him too haughty a look to be a romantic. Nevertheless I'm enjoying the drama. I can understand why Geezer found it exhausting.

Re: Full House. I enjoyed the show, but I swear the writers just got confused toward the end. There they were, happily wrapping everything up, when the producers came into the writer's room and said:
"You know, boys. This is only episode 11. We have a bunch more to do."
"No Way!!!"
"Yes, way. We have like 5 more of these to go."
"Bugger."
So the writers went back, shuffled things up again and started writing things toward the conclusion. And when they were done, the producer came back into their room and said:
"Guys? That's 14. We still have two more to do."
Whereupon two of the writers threw themselves off the roof, and the producer came to them in the hospital and said:
"I hate to ask, guys... but since none of the other writers can be found, could you just stretch it out a little bit more."
I did enjoy the show. But 16, hour long, episodes is rough with this kind of plot.
Re: Oh! Pil Seung!, I finished it today and really enjoyed it... well, except for the ending. They kept me interested through the entire show, and the guy who played Pil Seung really did carry the show. But I thought the ending sort of fizzled.
Still... well worth watching.
Now I get to go back to Japan for a while. _________________
Full House was enjoyable, it was the drama made me interested about kdramas but i agree about the decline in last episodes. I think it is a common thing in kdrama world, to drag the story after some point and finish it with an average ending.
I'm watching Harvest Villa right now, a unique suspense-comedy blend. Suspense elements in the story made me addicted, i'm very curious about what the hell is "really" going on. I hope they don't fall into that average ending trap.

I mean, how many iterations of "Song Hye-gyo waits on the porch looking morose, Bi comes home late, they fight, they redraw their contract, Song Hye-gyo waits on the porch looking morose, Bi comes home late..." can a viewer humanly stand? There were so many other scenarios the characters could've been thrown in, but the writers were just plain lazy.
@ Ralph-who-cannot-stand-Bi's-upper-lip !!!!! Hahaha I found that anatomical anomaly pretty disturbing at first, then just distracting, until finally it didn't bother me anymore. I guess watching more Bi dramas will make you inured to said lip. Now I actually like the dude.

Hey Sambalici! Fancy bumping into you here. The eagle has landed! lol.
Yeah, it's a common practice for Kdramas to be extended for another block of episodes if the ratings are good. Suffice it to say, all Kdramas that have gotten that treatment only end up ticking off the fans, because that's when basically nothing much happens plot-wise, or something happens but it's so insanely contrived and doesn't fit organically into the storyline. Sucks when that happens.
Oh, I didn't know HARVEST VILLA had suspense in it. Well, it would take a versatile actor as Shin Ha-kyun to pull off something like that really well.
