She's really underutilized in Mr.Brain. She's pretty funny in it, in certain scenes. She has a much larger role in JIN.
Ichi was quite fun. I didn't like how the Banchi gang acted like the Yakuza in some drama like Gokusen, but Ayase as Ichi was quite entertaining. Quite fun watching her dispatch eneimes with her backhand jutsu. _________________

You're right about her being underutilized, have watched 2 episodes so far, she's good, hope her role expands more as the series goes on. Ichi is high on my list of what to watch next, isn't Jin one of those Taiga, year long dramas. _________________

No, JIN was about 11 episodes and also stars her friend from Ichi. She wears a kimono most of the time, so she's quite lovely in the show.
I had one question tho, a few pages back there was a popularity poll where she was #1, and fans said that they liked her airheadedness. Is she really a bit of an airhead in real life? _________________

I have no idea if she is, in Mr. Brain she's serious so far, but in everything else I've seen she does play funny, airheadish characters. Didn't know that about Jin, will check it out then, seen a few comments on it and they were all positive. _________________

It's the big headline in the "FRIDAY" magazine that will be going on sale today, JIN's Osawa Takao (42) and Ayase Haruka (25) are in a relationship!?
Apparently Ayase got photographed how she tried to sneak into Osawa's apartment some day in mid-May. The combi-van she gets to ride from her agency stopped at the rear entrance of his apartment and Ayase quickly went inside the building. No more details are known yet since it's still early morning in Japan, but it seems like that wasn't the only time Ayase got spotted entering his apartment.
The two of them already appeared together in the movie "ICHI" in 2008 and last fall they once again worked together for the very successful TBS dorama "JIN". Their agencies already commented on the rumor. Osawa's side said, "They've become friends while working together, but their relationship is nothing like stated in that article." Ayase's agency denied it as well, "He's her senior and an actor she respects a lot. There is nothing more beyond that."

Oh, that's news to me. If it's true, the age difference shouldn't matter, since they're consenting adults.
I remember watching Ichi and I thought to myself they had some crazy chemistry going on and then they followed it up with JIN... so I wondered if it was just one of those serendipitous screen pairings or something was up. Who knows? Maybe it's just promotional buzz since season 2 of Jin is coming up. On a side note, they do make one handsome couple. _________________
