I don't think Kobe restructured his contract... I just think Mitch Kupchak made the steal of the century.

Maybe the Celtics wanted to beat them at Orlando for further humiliation.

No quit in them like the Cavs. Even though they lost the first 2 in Orlando, had they been better down the stretch they easily good have taken one of those games, maybe both. _________________

Maybe.
But close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

That's what made me give up my hand grenade tricks. Hopefully the Celts can wrap it up in five, after what happened to the Bruins lot of teams may think anything is possible. _________________

They've given up over 100 points in all four games... Hardly a championship winning defense. |
Don't worry. Lakers in 8.

Clippers to Hold Parade for Lebron
By KURT HELIN
LeBron James to the Clippers?
Most people think your sonfs second-grade YMCA team has about the same chance of landing LeBron as the Clippers. But the Clippers fans – and some people in Clippers management \ donft see it that way. They think they have a chance: Big market, good core of young players, enough cap space to offer him a max deal.
Hope. It can be a dangerous thing. But Clippers fans are swimming in it this offseason.
So much so on the last one that Clipper fans \ led by their superfan Clipper Darrell \ will host a LeBron James parade on May 27. If you want to show up, it will be at 3 p.m. across the street from Staples Center at LA Live.
The Clippers have the cap space to offer a max deal (something Mike Dunleavy did before being fired as general manager). They have a solid young core of guys like Blake Griffin and Chris Kaman inside then Eric Gordon and Baron Davis outside to build on. They have an open coaching vacancy so they can appoint whomever LeBron wants as coach (say John Calipari). This is also a big market. Los Angeles is a big stage.
On paper, they are a very good destination.
Reality may be more harsh.
Whether an African American player would risk the public relations hit to play for a man (Clippers owner Donald Sterling) who has faced multiple discrimination suits for his apartment buildings could be a harsh reality. Whether any star player wants to trust that Sterling will keep spending like he needs to win in the future is a harsh reality. Whether a superstar wants to enter a media market where another team and another superstar are already established and have won the city is another harsh reality.
But there is hope. There is always hope for the Clippers Nation. |
The Audacity of Hope.

Send 'em back to San Diego or scuttle those clippers in the Pacific Ocean.
