Uhm, I don't think Linda (as played by Tamayama Tetsuji) is in ROOKIES. Are you by chance referring to Kiritani Kenta? You might have confused the two because whoever styled them had the same concept -- gelled long hair and moustache. Ick. hehe

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! You just killed me with this paragraph!! Sad They look like twins with the greasy hair and creepy mustache. I don't care; I'm still calling ROOKIES guy "Linda" because both of them creep me out. Bleah

Nice save attempt. Beaten

If it makes you feel any better, I can call him Linda from now on, too. Bonk FYI, Tamayama Tetsuji might creep you out now but the guy used to be a looker. He still is, I guess, except he's trying to transition from pretty boy to "actor" and the hair might be a part of it. I suggest you check out Brother Beat when you have the time. The guy with the mohawk in ROOKIES is also in it.

Haha, let's all call greasy haired, mustache guys "Linda" from now on! Mr Green

It's too bad Tamayama now looks gross. I should google him to see the hotness because I want to know his appeal. And I saw Brother Beat (up till the last episode, which I haven't started watching over a year ago!), so I do recognize the mohawk guy.

Hope to watch the rest of episode 9 of ROOKIES tonight if I don't get distracted...

Deal. From now on, greasy hair + moustache = Linda. hehe

Oh btw, Tamayama played the eldest brother in Brother Beat. I'm now currently watching Prisoner since you brought him up. It's probably one of the silliest and most melodramatic mini-series I've seen, but I'm 2 eps away from finishing it. Doh!

Wait, wait, wait a minute!! HE was the oldest brother?? Omg, he was so damn hot in that drama!! What the hell happened?? It's so tragic what happened to him. Sad

On topic: episode 9 of ROOKIES. Why are so many people acting like jerks to them? Even underclassmen? This is getting ridiculous.

Episode 5 of Koshonin, has been getting better as it goes along. Applaud Shame it's only 8 episodes, Puppy Dog Eyes is it me or has anyone noticed the last few years how many dramas are now only 8-10 episodes, Twisted years ago seemed most were 10-12. On a bright note, first drama I've seen Ryoko in and I'm quite impressed, Victory! Peace! have Seikei Bijin and Pretty Girls that she's in all lined up to go.

Seriously, me too. I haven't whipped through a drama with this much enthusiasm in quite a long while. I knocked out 11 episodes already.

Those two along with Love Shuffle are probably my favorites of '09. They went a long way in helping me forget such "gems" as Tokyo Dogs and Untouchable. bleh

Finished Koshonin, at only 8 episodes was a quick watch. hehe Started off slowly, but really picked up steam the second half of the series, especially the last 2 episodes, if they kept that pace up for seaon two then it's a real winner. Victory! Peace! First drama I've seen Ryoko in, she's reeling me in to watch her in Seikei Bijin next. Doh! rofl

I think it might be her first starring role... 2002... And one of her best roles, IMO.

And it's also an early role for Konishi Manami as well. Smile

I really wish I had a DVD-quality version of this drama. Sweat

...I haven't even seen my crappy quality version of it. Sorry but I still love Rie Miyazawa. In love

The Rie Holy Grail. Mr Green

EDIT: The DVD Box Set of Seikei Bijin at YesAsia is a whopping $265USD.

Makes the price of the Season One Nodame Cantabile Box Set pale in comparison. Sweat

Shocked Shocked Shocked
Are you serious?!?!? That is absolutely CRAZY. I wonder if the vendor realizes that is totally counterproductive in terms of sales.

I kid you not. Sweat

Even HMV and Amazon Japan have the price listed at around 20000 yen. bleh

Dayem. That's absolutely nuts. If you consider that you could travel to Japan for a few hundred dollars more it really puts things in perspective. Something is definitely wrong with that pricing structure in terms of encouraging DVD sales. Sweat
