Satomi Ishihara plays heroine in "Manzai Gang"
Tue, June 8, 2010 (7:21pm EDT)
Comedian Hiroshi Shinagawa (38), of the duo Shinagawa Shoji, recently completed filming for his second movie as director. Titled "Manzai Gang," the picture stars Ryuta Sato (30) and Yusuke Kamiji (31), but it has just been revealed that Satomi Ishihara (23) will play the story's heroine.
Adapted from one of Shinagawa's novels, "Manzai Gang" has Sato playing a professional manzai comedian whose partner quits due to their recent lack of success. He tries to drink his sorrows away but winds up in a detention cell, where he meets a thug (Kamiji) with a natural sense of comedy, leading the two to become friends and form a new manzai duo.
Ishihara's role is described as an ordinary type of woman that could be found anywhere. She plays the part of Yumiko, the ex-girlfriend of Sato's character who continues supporting his lifestyle even after they have broken up. It is said that Ishihara has never played a character of this type before.
"Manzai Gang" is expected to finish post-production by the end of this year. Theatrical release is scheduled for 2011.

Love Satomi's new looks
gTobo Bengoshih press conference, Ishihara wins
June - 25 - 2010
Today was the press conference for Fuji TV's upcoming summer drama series "Tobo Bengoshi" starring Kamiji Yusuke (31) and co-starring Ishihara Satomi (23) as well as Kitamura Kazuki (40) and others.
Just before the press conference Ishihara appeared on "Waratte Iitomo!" during the "Telephone Shocking" corner and at the press conference she enjoyed telling the reporters and the fans that, "I know this has nothing to do with the drama, but I won a Tamo-Strap at Hyakubun no Ichi Anketto!" This certain game translates into "1 out of 100 Survey" and the guest has to come up with a statement/question that only one out of the 100 randomly selected studio guests can answer with a yes. Ishihara did well in following the drama's theme and came up with the statement: "My father is a lawyer." Only one person in the audience has a lawyer as her father and so Ishihara was able to win one of the highly coveted Tamo-Straps (a Tamori figure). Thanks to that victory she is now absolutely positive that the drama will be a success. "I think Tobo Bengoshi will turn into an absolutely amazing drama," she said.
The drama is based on a manga by the same name and tells the story of a young lawyer (Kamiji) living a flawless life until one day he suddenly gets accused of murder and arson. The accusations seem to be false, but he can't prove his innocence and has to escape from the authorities. While hiding from the police and dedicating all his energy to find the real criminal, he often comes across people with troubles or gets involved into situations that he has to solve with his great knowledge of the law. The cast is very solid and also features Yada Akiko (31) and Toyohara Kosuke (44) alongside those that have been mentioned above.
Newcomer Kazusa (20) will sing the theme song "Stand Up For Love". The drama will air on Tuesdays at 10pm and the first episode will air on July 06.

Ishihara Satomi about male friends and fake love
On the 14th actress Ishihara Satomi (23) appeared as guest on Fuji TV's talk show "Gout Temps Nouveau" and talked about various interesting things, including always falling in love with her acting partner when filming a love story and that she doesn't have a single male friend in her circle of friends. In the show she met up with fellow 86ers Azama Myuu (23) and Hasegawa Jun (24) to talk about all those things.
Azama stated that she never started to date any of her long-term male friends and that once they are friends, they are going to stay friends forever. Ishihara was really surprised and asked, "Friends? 'Male' friends? How can you have them as friends?" Hasegawa and Azama were just surprised about her question as Ishihara about the fact that you can be just friends with a man. Hasegawa explained it for her, "There is no emotion like love involved, you just hang out, have meals together and talk. You don't have any male friend like that?" Ishihara then explained that all of her friends are women and that she would not be able to hang out with a man unless he was her boyfriend.
Later she surprised them again, when she revealed that she always falls in love with her acting partner. "I always completely get into the role I'm playing and start to develop real feelings for my partner when we are filming. Also, whenever he shows his affection for me (as part of his role), I get butterflies in my stomach and feel really happy." Her 'fake' love for her acting partner can even go so far that she starts to feel jealous and dumped, when she knows or finds out that he actually has a girlfriend in his private life. The feelings she develops when filming for a movie or a drama seem to be so deep that it could become really difficult once the filming ends. Ishihara said that it's the best thing to completely separate yourself from the project once it's over and that you should forget about your fake partner once and for all. "After all you have to develop the same feelings when filming for the next project," she explained the endless repetition of falling in love and forgetting about it again that comes with her job.
You might call it a skill and professionalism to be able to get that much into your role, but Ishihara herself is worried that she might not be able to control her emotions once she starts to fall in love in her private life. She might become too used to separating and erasing all of her feelings at once that she might end up falling into the same loop of falling in love and splitting up in her private life.
The tough side effects of being an actor or an actress.
Satomi is such a poor girl, please don't be like this.
