done with Thank You
love this drama a lot....I should rate this drama 10/10
a lot of romantic scenes,,,my heart was melting by Jang Hyuk acts
and oh,,that kid (Lee Bom),,she was so smart...I wanna have one kid just like her...
this drama is not just an ordinary love story,,,I can smile and cry at the same time..... _________________
My sister's Number 1 favourite korean actress is Chae-rim, and as a result I have ALL of her dramas in circulation. Looks like I'll be sending you another package!
That would be swell but I feel guilty receiving so many and there is so little I can do to return the favor.

oh lol. 10/10 too? just like me
I'm glad you like it. A friend highly recommended this to me as he knows that I love family drama and yes, I got hooked. My very first korean drama after Endless Love (and it was ancient ago). Love everything about the drama, the story, the conflict, the pace and top notch acting, especially that little girl who played Lee Bom and Jang Hyuk, awww...I'm head over heels with him _________________

Unfortunately other than Dal Ja's Spring she doesn't have another good romantic-comedy.
It does not necesarily have to be that as long as it doesn't end with someone dying or any romances not resolved with the the one they should end up with.

You might have covered this, but doesn't Oh! Pil Seung And Bong Soon Young count as a Park Chae Rim romantic comedy?

W00t! THANK YOU is one of my fave K-dramas of all time. It's what turned me into a Jang Hyuk completist back in 2008. Love the ensemble cast (Gong Hyo-jin I've always admired, and OMG that kid was fantastic), love how the writer didn't sensationalize Bom's sickness (kept it all very low-key, actually), love the small-town vibe, love the dynamic between Dr. Min Gi-seo and Young-shin, and between Gi-seo and Bom (!!!), love the old geezer Mr. Lee (chocopieeeeeee!!!!!!!! *sobsobsob*), love Jang Hyuk... did I say I love Jang Hyuk? lulz...

Sharing is caring, babycakes. (As a personal rule I don't "claim" any of my fave celebs for myself. Where's the fun in that? )

EG, because of this drama I'm really head over heels with Jang Hyuk right now. I've been downloading his dramas and movies
Awesome!!! (THANK YOU is also extra special to me -- besides being my fave Jang Hyuk starrer -- because he did this drama right after his controversial military service stint ended, and at first the producer/director had trouble casting the female lead because several high-profile K-actresses turned down the role. I guess they didn't think Jang Hyuk still had much of a career to return to after that draft-dodging scandal with Song Seung-hun. They wuzz wrong!!! They wuzz wrong!!!)
So have you seen anything else besides THANK YOU?
So far I've watched...
-Drama-
SUCCESS STORY OF A BRIGHT GIRL - I had a blast with this rom-com! Jang Hyuk has really perfected the "Rich Sekkya Who Is Laid Low! But Finds Love!" type of role, and it shows in this drama. I'm not a Jang Nara fan, but I did love their screwball (and often, very physical) sparring throughout the drama. The OST is still wedged somewhere in my brain, and I'm actually humming it right now, lol.
ROBBERS - Um. Typical K-melodrama. Didn't love the writing (or Lee Da-hae's performance ), but acting-wise, I did think that our man delivered. He's basically an anti-hero type of guy here: a con man who falls in love with one of his victims, but OHNOES!!! the loansharks are after him!!! what to do, what to do??? And then -- OHNOES!!! Jang Hyuk's a boxer, too! And in K-dramaland, we all know what boxing inevitably leads to!!! What to do, what to do???
DAEMANG - I only got to watch this sageuk in patches when it aired on Arirang a few years back, but I actually liked what I saw from Jang Hyuk's scenes. I just wasn't invested in his poor guy-rich girl love story with Lee Yo-won, so I didn't finish all 26 episodes.
(I also have: INTO THE SUNLIGHT where he plays second male lead to Cha Tae-hyun; TAZZA which will probably never see the light of day because of all the horrendous reviews; and CHUNO which is definitely absolutely on my to-watch list.)
-Film-
Um, I'm sure you've seen WINDSTRUCK? I think of it as a lesser MY SASSY GIRL (same director, same Jeon Ji-hyun), but I did like Jang Hyuk's mild-mannered physics teacher character.
PLEASE TEACH ME ENGLISH - Oh you'll probably love him here as a smarmy jackass named Elvis!!! (And Lee Na-young is so adorable in this movle.)
VOLCANO HIGH - Jang Hyuk (with bleached hair!!!) goes to a high school for kids with super powers, and has a nekkid butt exposure scene in the shower room (with faucets and pipes bursting all around him). (Oh, and pre-Hallyu Kwon Sang-woo has a supporting role here.)
Don't bother with PUBLIC TOILET, you'll be bored to tears and the production values are soooo D minus.
(I haven't seen Jang Hyuk's more recent movies, though -- because I got sidetracked by a *certain* hockey player *shakes fist*. I have his Singaporean-produced "ballroom dancing!!!and kung-fu!!!" movie DANCE OF THE DRAGON, for which Jang Hyuk specifically learned how to speak English, but I don't feel like watching it yet. Bad reviews, too.)
***
Have you seen the music video of G.O.D.'s "To My Mother"? Guess who's in it. He's friends with the G.O.D. rapper dudes, btw. Catchy song. (Totally random, but it's what Oh Ji-ho is singing while driving his pickup truck in a scene in FANTASY COUPLE.)

omg EG, thanks for the enlightment, I love reading your long-ish posts
i'm never really into Kdramas but THANK YOU really got me hooked.
I've been downloading his movies. So far I have downloaded Maybe/Five Senses of Eros, Rabbits and Lizard, Dance of the Dragon and Volcano High. I haven't downloaded any of his dramas besides CHUNO coz Kdramas have very long episodes and oh, speaking of CHUNO, it's definitely a must watch (even though I kinda dislike Lee Da-Hae there ). I enjoy his acting there and of course the chance to see him practice his martial arts I'm still on episode 14.
oh do you know that he came to Kusanagi's Cho Nan Kang? I was like ftw??! Kusanagi and Jang Hyuk have met and talked before?? you can imagine how hyper I was when I found out about it _________________

Well, there was We Are Dating Now (her pre-plastic surgery days). It was a romance, comedy in the side story. Not a great drama... but she was cute in it.

Yes! I haven't seen this one, but I wanted to get it after watching Ahn Jae Wook in Mr. Goodbye. Thanks for the recommendation. It's the motivation I needed to actually crack down on it. _________________

Geez! So I went through my sisters collection to see what dramas she had collected, and there it was: Oh! Pil Seung And Bong Soon Young! She beat me to it. How convenient!
