Awesome!!! (THANK YOU is also extra special to me -- besides being my fave Jang Hyuk starrer -- because he did this drama right after his controversial military service stint ended, and at first the producer/director had trouble casting the female lead because several high-profile K-actresses turned down the role. I guess they didn't think Jang Hyuk still had much of a career to return to after that draft-dodging scandal with Song Seung-hun. They wuzz wrong!!! They wuzz wrong!!!)
I forgot to comment on this. Please, tell me more about the scandal EG. _________________

oh, speaking of CHUNO, it's definitely a must watch (even though I kinda dislike Lee Da-Hae there ). I enjoy his acting there and of course the chance to see him practice his martial arts I'm still on episode 14.
oh do you know that he came to Kusanagi's Cho Nan Kang? I was like ftw??! Kusanagi and Jang Hyuk have met and talked before?? you can imagine how hyper I was when I found out about it
...

So you're watching CHUNO for the acting? Not for the sweaty ripped washboard abs (x 2!!!! x 2!!!!!) of Hyuk and Oh Ji-ho assaulting your senses from every frame? (Btw, Oh Ji-ho was the guy I mentioned from my previous post, the male lead in the rom-com FANTASY COUPLE. When I first learned about CHUNO my brain fairly exploded, because next to Kang Ji-hwan those two are my biggest K-crushes. I love one for his acting talent, but I love both for... well that other stuff. )
Hountoni, Tsuyopon and Hyuk? That's like, qnuyheaven right there! I hope they got along and had fun...? As much as I love Hyuk, he does tend to be a bit humorless during interviews, i.e. I'm-a-serious-actor-ergo-I-take-myself-WAY-too-seriously kind of attitude. The CHUNO cast once guested on this comedy-variety show, and Oh Ji-ho and Lee Da-hae were joshing around and poking fun at each other, but Jang Hyuk was like, why-sssso-serious the whole time, and obviously did not seem to know how to play along, so the joke ended up being on him.
Re the military service scandal: Back in 2004, Jang Hyuk's movie with Jeon Ji-hyun WINDSTRUCK was a huge box-office hit, and everyone believed he was poised to make it as both a bankable movie star and a solid TV drama lead. Then came the DRAFT DODGING!!! In the same year, Hyuk and fellow actors Song Seung-hun and Han Jae-suk were exposed for using trumped up medical conditions to get out of their 2-year mandatory army service.
Korean males usually complete their MS in their early twenties, but generally actors can defer their term until several years later, especially when they're at the peak of their commercial popularity and want to keep striking the proverbial iron while it's still hot. But trying to worm your way out of MS using falsified records is a great big no-no in that country, and the way I see it, it's because of two things: (1) technically, the two Koreas are still in a state of war therefore combat preparedness is a must; and (2) Koreans have a deep sense of nationhood and civic duty.
Needless to say, the scandal sparked a media frenzy across the nation and plunged the three actors into disgrace and humiliation. The Korean government was like, "you get your sorry asses back to the army and serve your country well, you useless little pretty boys," lol. I remember photos taken of their physical examination (because obviously the media were all present!) and Jang Hyuk and Co. were in their hospital gowns, and OH BOY did they look miserable.
But they did their time and paid their dues, and when Jang Hyuk was discharged in 2006, the first project he did was THANK YOU, and the rest, as you know, is history.

thanks EG, wow! that must be hard for him. I've seen some pictures of him in his army suit bowing deeply in front of the camera and I was puzzled. Now I understand what happened.
I initially watched CHUNO because of Jang Hyuk, but them OMG!!! THOSE ABS! I kept squealing when I saw them lol!
ah yes, Hyuk tends to be so quite and a little bit out of place when he's in a variety show, well I've only seen him in Family Outing (he was so serious when he first came to the show but he seemed more relaxed when he came to the show the following year), but I enjoyed his talk with Kusanagi in Cho Nan Kan. Well, in case you want to watch it, I've reuploaded the show I had from tudou

I also think you lose the respect of every male citizen: The ones that do complete their service and the ones that have a REAL medical condition that impedes them from going to the army.
It seems to me that actors are allowed to push-back their military service until they're 30.

I wish there was a Kdorama forum with the interest in Kdramas reaching such heights. Wyn chan, don't you think you have the time to start one? I've looked at a couple but they do not have the structure of Jdorama with indexes to the dramas with their cast pictures and member reviews.
Yeah, would be nice to have a forum like that, couple of sites that have reviews but awful hard to navigate thru, seen about 10 K-dramas but interested in viewing more.
Just started on My Girl again, don't know why I didn't finish it when I started it before, has that smae formula as others but the comedy so far is good. Downloading Only You, really like Han Chae Young, seen her in 2 other dramas, Sassy Girl was such a good one with her. _________________

With enough interest I could put one together. I've created loads of forums in the past... but it would take some time gathering all the info. _________________

That would be one major chore though, they don't have as many dramas as Japan does, but to go back all the years and find all the drama, actors, etc, mind boggling to think about it. _________________

SO you loved it obviously. Is it sad?
No, it's a comedy/drama/romance series with more drama, at least for the first half of the show.

The stranger, In-Jae, drinks the shot without seeing the ring and both of them end up in the hospital.
To support herself, Na Ra pretends to be her ex-boyfriendfs 20 years old sister in order to work as a cosmetic clerk at Mi-Rae (the woman her ex-boyfriend fell in love with)fs shop but fate has brought In-Jae to the shop to. Thus began their surprising journey of love, where In-Jae is in love with Mi-Rae too. Cast
Han Chae Young as Shin Na Ra / Shin Na Kyung (Cosmetic beauty counselor)
Kang Ji Hwan as Nah In Jae (Cosmetic gallery manager)
Park Eun Hye as Chae Mi-rae (Head of the cosmetic store management team)
Yoon Sang Hyun as Kang Seung-woo (CPA, Nah-rafs ex-boyfriend)

Didn't love it, but it was quite addicting. Little sad the last 5 or so episodes, started out as a really funny comedy/drama, halfway thru it got very serious, brought back stabbing to a new level, Han Chae Young was great though, especially in her drunken scenes where she was very funny. Guess Only You will be started shortly, am also downloading another drama called Resurrection, anyone seen it? Another drama that looked interesting was M, it's from 1994, was very popular during it's short run, only 10 episodes. _________________
