I was indeed thinking about 2001 A Space Odissey: on the shuttle to the moon the food they sereved had to be of a sticky kind, otherwhise it would have flown around.
On that table-car food will definitely tend to fly away Beaten

Don't have that practice here. But some countries in Latin America do and it is pretty nice to walk around without the threat of getting run over.
