Regarding Wang Guhn......
I understand he had 29 wives. Busy guy. All marriages were for political reasons of course and most of the wives stayed in their home areas except for the first three or four. He was constantly saying he was not interested in marriage and was just a warrior. Well it was for the good of the country doncha know.
I don't think the idea of an O'oku was in vogue in that early time. It was later on and in Japan for the Emperor.
Regarding Hojo Tokemune.
There were a lot of really well known actors in that series and they came and went quite quickly. Mostly through seppuku or sword fights. I know I was mortified when Kitamura Kazuki was dispatched. I like him. Do you remember the scene when Tokesuke returned to the court after some years, and he could not make himself known to his little boy? The Queen brought the child to see the 'explorer' so that he could look at the strange maps. He was not quite tall enough to see them on the table and so Tokesuke was able to lift his son up and hold him . I think that was one scene that Atsuro played so exquisitely and his emotions were extreme to say the least. Great acting and great directing.

Well I wait with anticipation for your final comments re QSD. I will save my final sentiments. I think that Mishil may be the most evil woman you love to hate in any drama yet seen.Such concentrated venom.

That actress, Ko Hyun Jung, can have the most evil expression in her eyes and the sweetest expression on her face. She is a favorite of ours and once again does not disappoint. We are on ep 7 so it will take us about a month or so. Im thrilled to have a historical drama to be hooked on again.
Seems everyone has enjoyed it. _________________

I am also enjoying this drama. I am now not sure which episode we are on here in Cal. Because of the situation with the artists and the producers, they have been not working for a week or so. Now I don't know where we are. Can't comment in case I put spoiler.
I wonder also what will happen to the handsome non human who is pressuring Miho to return. Do you think he will become sympathetic for her situation and not make her go back?
I do not see why the hero(?) is so impressed with his other girlfriend. She is not very attractive...Peg

No I am watching on TV channel here in California. I have three or four Korean channels but since the semistrike in Korea for the actors etc it has thrown the schedule out a bit.
The actor who is also non-human was one of the chefs in 'Pasta' I think his name there was Philip. Great face but new actor.

From what I've read the strike threat has been settled...
This is only the second K-drama I have watched (other was The Man Who Can't Get Married) just to compare it with Kekkon Dekinai Otoko. It was good, but still KDO was better. I'm watching Gumiho on a recommendation and I'm glad I did. I'll probably check out more K-dramas now.

I am having an interesting posting conversation on the d-addicts thread for this drama. You might like to join in. The others already are ahead of me in the episodes so my comments are at least two episodes behind them.

Are you referring to Park Soo Jin? I don't think she's that bad. But to me it seems like she could eat more. She's extremely thin, I mean there's hardly any meat on her arms and legs. I feel like I could break here in half.

Finally started on CHUNO. The last sageuk that captured my interest long enough to finish it was DAMO (2003). This is basically DAMO on monster steroids. Heckuva story too.

niknik,
Well I think gumihos make for fascinating searches. There are so many ways to show them. Actually my favourite drama was just called 'Story of the NineTailed Fox'
It had a wonderful cast and was modern time. I wish I had obtained a copy whether d.l or DVD.
I recommend it if you ever come across it.

Finished all 50 episodes of Sangdo earlier this week, about a man who went from being a slave to the state to become the richest businessman in Korea. It's not as dramatic and moving as Jewel in the Palace. And it didn't make the most of several climax. But the characterisation were quite well done, despite the main characters feeling a bit bland. I finished watching it feeling quite content, even though the romance part didn't work out the way I wish for. The fact that I managed to watch all of it (which I almost never do nowadays) is a testament to the quality of this series. With the exception of a few passages here and there, I didn't skip or feel it was too long. Kim Hyun Joo was beautiful in this, made me a fan of hers.
