According to Wiki, "Cassis" is French for a black currant.

Well, you need to be more careful about your currants.
And that ramen in pork broth looked divine
as most things do when they're porcine.
Start the jihad!
Its pig meat tonight! _________________

Your pics really attest to why the LA area is the heart of Japanese cuisine in the States.

A fortunate by-product of geography I think. Because LA is one of our country's natural ports of trade along the Pacific Rim there are numerous Japanese companies that have set up shop over the years. With that comes people of Japanese descent who brought their food with them.

Just to reiterate be sure to try their Sapporo Miso Ramen with morokoshi-butaa (corn stir-fried in butter)

I do feel saddest, that I don't have a steaming bowl of that ramen in front of my face right now.

That looks delicious but really rich! Do you usually get a side of gyoza, too?

They said they'd throw me out on my ass if I didn't. No but seriously the gyoza there is way better than what's offered at other Japanese restuarants. So you really have to order it.
