EXILE's AKIRA to play Juri Ueno's husband in taiga drama "Gou"
Thu, February 3, 2011
AKIRA will become the first member of EXILE to act in one of NHK's taiga dramas, it has been learned. He will appear in the ongoing series "Gou ~Himetachi no Sengoku~" in the role of Toyotomi Hidekatsu, one of the husbands of the main character Gou, who is played by lead actress Juri Ueno.
Historically, Hidekatsu was the nephew of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. He became the second husband of Gou after she divorced Saji Kazunari, but Hidekatsu died shortly after that during Japan's invasions of Korea. Gou later married her third and final husband, Tokugawa Hidetada, played by Osamu Mukai.
As an actor, AKIRA has appeared in a few films and television dramas. Last year, he received Best New Actor in the 19th Japan Movie Critics Awards for his role in the 2009 film "Chanto Tsutaeru."
AKIRA's appearance in "Gou" will start with the series' 17th episode, scheduled to air on May 1.
BMWueno will make a comment now about fangirls, but no mention of fanboys? That's all this thread is, a drooling place for Juri fanboys!! As of right now (March 6th) the drama is on episode 8 and the thread is at 45 pages!! That means by the time all 48 episodes have aired, this thread will be somewhere around 270 pages!! Geez, talk about fanboys!!

About the wet nurses, I am pretty sure many of them did get married.
Chacha's wet nurse is the mother of Ono Harunaga, Harufusa, and Harutane. According to the JP wiki, she was not only Chacha's wet nurse, but also Chacha's son, Hideyori's wet nurse... o.o
Gou's son, Tokugawa Iemitsu's wet nurse, Kasuga no Tsubone, married Inaba Masanari, and had 3 sons of her own.
As for your favorite wet nurse Yoshi...I checked around a bit but didn't find any mentioning of her marriage.

I wonder if Yoshi would follow Gou until she become the shogun's wife?
I just watched Atsuhime recently, Atsuhime's maid in the Edo palace was also acted by the actress who's acting Yoshi in GOU, so when I see her in Atsuhime, I can't help to keep thinking ... so Yoshi's descendants dedicated their lives in the Edo palace for 200+ years _________________

If the script follows history then yes, Yoshi will play a major role in O-oku. She's later called Minbukyo no Tsubone. Yoshi is a fictional name as her real name cannot be found on any documentation.
There were just so many women in Atsuhime that I didn't catch it. Nice observation!
I just did a quick wiki check on the actress Miyaji Masako, she also played a role in last year's Ryoma-den.
PS: maybe she lived for 300 years and served both Gou and Atsuhime...

Ah, sugoi!! So she has a major role in Ooku! No wonder this actress is casted to be Gou's wet nurse! Otanoshimi! I wonder if her position will be above Kasuga-no-Tsubone when Kasuga first enter Ooku. Many facts pointed that Gou and Kasuga doesn't get along well^^ If Yoshi really make it to the Ooku in this drama, then I think I might be able to expect some interesting "Ooku-rashii" scenes in the last 10 episodes

She was one of the 3 maids who dresses Atsuhime every morning

I doubt it...there's a speculation that Minbukyo (Yoshi) was the one who brought Kasuga into Ooku.
I just read Yoshi's bio on the official NHK site. It does mention that she'll later be Minbukyo no Tsubone, which is the name given to her in Ooku. So we'll surely see Yoshi following Gou all around
And speaking of Kasuga...her father should make his debut in Ep 6.

Ah sou ka! Her father is Akechi Mitsuhide's vassal? In OOKU, this was made as one of the reason why Gou can't get along with her^^ I wonder if Kasuga would show up earlier too. _________________
