^^ Thanks, she looks great as usual ...the other female in the upper left pic is Emi Takei, if there is an up and coming star it's her, check her out in Otomen and Gold. _________________

I used to dislike Masami but ever since her popularity toned down, I came to appreciate her beauty (and legs. ) I think I used to think of her as overrated before, but I guess the reason why people liked her before is because she's genuinely sweet.
Lately, I notice that she's compelled to show off her legs because of a decline in her popularity. I hope she gets the ball rolling again; it'd be interesting to see her in a new drama.

I'm not really sure how popular she is in Japan at the moment, but it could also be that now she's older, so she doesn't have to maintain the "innocent" image anymore.
Few screenshots from Gold, doesn't appear to be as bad as some think though watching without subs ... but Masami is in it so all is okay.
I saw the first episode and find the main story extremely uninteresting, but Masami's character's tribolations as a secretary are entertaining. This role seems to actually fit her.

Made it up to episode 4, not sure if I'm going to continue, Yuki's goddess-like speeches are just so annoying, but as you said Masami's character fit her, perhaps more light hearted roles like that are for her. Just re-watched this early film of Masami's, really is such an entertaining film, recommend it highly, whole cast is top notch. _________________

From today's TokyoGraph:
Katsumi Takahashi (49) and Masami Nagasawa (23) will co-star as father and daughter in a Fuji TV drama special this April. The show is tentatively titled "Tare Yori mo Kimi wo Aisu."
Set in Shizuoka, the show is a comedy about the owner of an unagi shop (Takahashi) whose daughter (Nagasawa) comes back home with her child, and their attempt to rebuild their bond as family. The screenplay was written by Yuki Fujimoto ("Chiritotechin"), based on a classic rakugo story.
Takahashi and Nagasawa have actually played father and daughter before in commercials, but this will be their first time doing so in a drama. Their supporting cast includes Shota Shunputei (51), a rakugo storyteller from Shizuoka. _________________

Hm, nice to see Masami is going to be in a new dorama. But, from what I can read here, sounds a bit to "mature and boring" to be financially successful and get Masami back onto track.
