Dude the footage is crazy. I just saw a clip filmed inside an office....the shaking went out for fuggin' EVER.

Police said 200 to 300 bodies were found in the northeastern coastal city of Sendai, the city in Miyagi prefecture, or state, closest to the epicenter. Another 178 were confirmed killed, with 584 missing. Police also said 947 people were injured.

Not so dramatic but the tsunami arrived in Northern California and wrecked the harbors in Cresent City and Santa Cruz.

They are saying the reason the damage was contained was because the tsunami hit at low tide.

Not to minimize the tragedy that hit Japan last night, but I'm amazed at the advances in the "developed" countries. Buildings in Japan built to standards that saved countless lives. Sea Walls with doors that open and close to minimize damage. Warning systems that alerted people to the dangers of the tsunami. TV and radio weather people telling folks from 50 different countries exactly when the waves were going to hit their coasts.

All that stuff that we all but take for granted simply didn't exist when I was a kid.

^^^It made me chuckle because he sounds like a lot of my friends who live in SoCal. Also, when he said "look at this shit!" (slides door open and camera pans on dank). Honestly, he took it rather mellow. I on the other hand was cursing up a storm.

Yeah, it was major intense, and I also watched a few Kobe '95 youtube footages of that quake, major shaker there too!
