Ain't it the truth.

Casualty totals are growing...
One hour ago:
--------------------------------------------------
Police said 200 to 300 bodies were found in the northeastern coastal city of Sendai, the city in Miyagi prefecture, or state, closest to the epicenter. Another 178 were confirmed killed, with 584 missing. Police also said 947 people were injured.
--------------------------------------------------
Condolences to the families of those killed or injured.

Not so dramatic but the tsunami arrived in Northern California and wrecked the harbors in Cresent City and Santa Cruz.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/03/11/national/main20042243.shtml
They are saying the reason the damage was contained was because the tsunami hit at low tide.
Not to minimize the tragedy that hit Japan last night, but I'm amazed at the advances in the "developed" countries. Buildings in Japan built to standards that saved countless lives. Sea Walls with doors that open and close to minimize damage. Warning systems that alerted people to the dangers of the tsunami. TV and radio weather people telling folks from 50 different countries exactly when the waves were going to hit their coasts.
All that stuff that we all but take for granted simply didn't exist when I was a kid. _________________ Manga is to Literature

That dood must have took a few rips off his bong because that cat was way too mellow. He hit the doja for sure.
