You need to take it with a grain of salt hehe I was just laughing reading them Mr Green I've gotten used of reading criticisms toward something I love, I guess. (due to the fact that my favs are SMAP and Arashi Beaten)

Actually, I AM surprised that someone like Ueno Juri gets criticized as well. I thought she's an excellent actress. Guess not all people agree with that.

Oh no... imagine the whole criticisms that will point at Mukai Osamu's portrayal as Hidetada, later. (I'm a fan of Mukai) I need to be ready for that, yosh! hadoken

I've really enjoyed Ep8-14 so far, nothing went wrong at all. (Ep4-7 were the lowest points, for me, though)

I'm just tired of the regurgitating of the same issues about age and Nodame... We're 14 episodes in.... Give it a rest. Grumble

I liked the Honno-ji and Akechi plotlines... I thought the dialog between Go and Akechi to be really poignant.

I haven't had any problem with the series so far other than Hideyoshi's over-the-top theatrics. bleh

Yanie,

Do you have any memory about a poem or maybe a haiku about the three daimyos Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and Ieyesu.

It is nagging at me and I can't remember or find it. It was something about how these three would deal with a situation or problem.

One would act ... One would think and plan..... and the third (I think Ieyesu) would simply wait.

He really did wait altho he wanted to be the top dog, he just sat back and waited until the others were gone and then he finished the job of bringing the clans together during the Tokugawa time.

I don't think the poem mentions their names at all but everyone knew who they were.

Never heard of it, but this is my Google search result^^
http://www.kobejournal.com/Japan%20history/whos_who.html

Oda Nobunaga. 1534-1582. "If a bird doesn't sing, kill it." - a haiku poem describing his style.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi. 1536-1598. "If a bird doesn't sing, make/teach it sing." - a haiku poem describing his style.

Ieyasu Tokugawa 1542-1616. "If a bird doesn't sing, wait for it to" - a haiku poem describing his style.

hehe, interesting... But is this the one you're talking abt?

Yanie,

Absolutely...that is the one. I knew it had something to do with haiku but I had not been able to remember the subject altho I did have a recollection of how they would approach the matter.

It does show the personality of those three don't you think>

Many thanks for your search. Much appreciated. I did not know where to start....

Just noticed that Ieyasu died the same year that Shakespeare did. 1616

Things like tat fascinate me......Puts things into a pattern when it comes to history.

Thank you so much!! Machimashita! w00t!

brad, yes it matches them. I wonder if Hideyoshi's haiku means he tried to make everyone his allies? Or it means a different thing?

Why do you think so?^^
I'm indifferent about AKIRA. Never seen him acting before. And I dunno much abt Toyotomi Hidekatsu, just from the novel, seem like he speaks his mind freely and likes to laugh alot. I dunno abt his acting/portrayal or his chemistry with Juri-chan. But as far as he looks, he's quite okay, I guess.

Ep14 rating is 19.2%!! Dancing It's recovering bit by bit!! Or is it because of Kazunari-sama??^v^

LOL so beem prefers topknot. hehe

AKIRA's acting is OK. He won the Best New Actor award at Japan Movie Critics last year for his role in Sion Sono's movie Chanto Tsutaeru, which stars Okuda Eiji.[/b]

Oh, that's good. Looking forward to Gou and Hidekatsu's short love story^^

I found a blog provides news of Shiga pref. (Gou's birthplace) in English, it has English articles on Gou, the NHK taiga drama: http://shiga-ken.com/blog/category/nagahama/go/

Smile I posted it a while ago, from Wikipedia's entry on the Sengoku period:
Quote:
* Nakanunara, koroshiteshimae, hototogisu (If the cuckoo does not sing, kill it.)
* Nakanunara, nakashitemiseyou, hototogisu (If the cuckoo does not sing, coax it.)
* Nakanunara, nakumadematou, hototogisu (If the cuckoo does not sing, wait for it.)

Nobunaga, known for his ruthlessness, is the subject of the first; Hideyoshi, known for his resourcefulness, is the subject of the second; and Ieyasu, known for his perseverance, is the subject of the third verse.

Yup... I think it's more authentic. Victory! Peace!

I still don't get why Ieyasu didn't have a topknot for six episodes, then poof! he has one. Head Scratch

I agree, but maybe is only so when one is more interested in the ladies. Mr Green
I don't know what era it was, but I don't think I would prefer black teeth and shaved eyebrows. hehe
