I suppose if I had enough motivation I could rip the subs from the hardsubbed version and sync them up with this version....

I wasn't implying that! I'm sure that's a lot of work, man. That's like me going behind the counter at Shinsengumi to grill the yakitori instead of eat it.

Might be a worthwhile project... Let's see if all the episodes get uploaded.
I don't want to start and then find out the uploader chumps out.

There's some novelty in that, I think.

That's one sure fire way to ruin their business...but it would make for some great videos if they have a Youtube Channel.
I can hear it now...
"Why does this yakitori taste like beer?"
"Oh don't mind that...might have spilled a few drops here and there."
OT, speaking of old dramas like Tokyo Elevator Girl...I don't know if they have such a service available but they should create a HULU or Netflix type service and archive all these old tv shows/doramas for instant streaming. I bet they could make some real money.

If the Japanese want to make some real money and help subsidize their rebuilding of the tsunami-ravaged areas, they should English sub all of their dramas past and present and put 'em up for sale (at a reasonable price )...

Indeed, indeed.
Obviously my pessimism regarding your proposal stems from the fact that it seems so obvious yet not one production company has bothered to invest what must be the fairly reasonable sum to sub said dramas for "foreign consumption."
...not that I think my Hulu idea will ever come to pass.

It's not great, but it is entertaining... One of the first dramas I've ever watched... And it does star a very young (19) Miyazawa Rie.
The drama's nearly 20 years old, BTW... Anything older than five or so years seems to turn off most people.

Not me. I enjoyed the hell out of "Kou Kou Kyoushi 1993" and I'm trying to watch the first "3 nen B gumi Kinpachi Sensei" from 1979 even though without subtitles, I can understand little to nothing of the words they're saying...

The other thing is, there's no subs.

It appears that the uploader was pissed off that I posted the fact that this drama was available for download at D-Addicts, which seems contrary to the entire point of posting them in the first place. |
What?
