We had one that had a single door: the freezer door was inside.
It was scary, 'cause it had that meat locker latch on it.
Haha. Dahmer style.
When I first when to Japan back in '04 or '05 we visited this Japanese girl who was a friend of a friend and she had this old ass Kenmore fridge in her apartment. Tripped me out...that thing must have been so old...to think it was imported to Japan from the United States. When was the last time we exported consumer appliances to Japan!
After we relegated the fridge to the garage, we wrapped it with rope to keep anyone from accidentally locking themselves inside.

I'm sure.
Was it avocado green or harvest yellow?
I recall it being some sort of "off white" color. My memory could be failing me though.
I know I had a yellow White Westinghouse fridge at home until last November. Thing was probably around 20 years old, weighed a ton, and had a water/ice maker compartment that no longer worked. I replaced it with an energy star compliant LG fridge that I purchased during the Black Friday hoopla.
I kid you not...my monthly electricity bill which used to average around 100 dollars a month dropped precipitously to around 50 dollars a month!
That was the only thing that changed in terms of my appliances or usage of electricity.

That's be Almond White.

I was seriously stunned.
Cool.
I bought a Energy Star Whirlpool fridge two years ago and its supposed energy usage for a year is $65...

At one point in time, the fridge used to consume the most power of anything in the home, now it's one of the least.
The HDTV might be the big energy hog now.
True true. Given advances with LED-LCD TVs though, I think the HDTVs are becoming more energy efficient too. I know when I moved from a 36" CRT tv to a 55" LED-LCD tv I did not see any increase in my electricity bill.

So how come your electric bill is so cheap?
My lowest is just under $200 but itcan be more than double, though we do have two households using it but still.
Nobody at the pad but me, coupled with the more energy efficient fridge; gas range not electric...pretty good about turning off the lights in unoccupied rooms, rarely gets hot enough to warrant the use of AC, and perhaps most important I don't have monster guests that look like Thor who turn down the thermostat on the AC when I'm not looking.

LOL.
My range and oven are electric, but my monthly bill is typically about $35-$40.
