Finished re-watching Orange Days... It was really good all the way through, but I also understand why I only gave it an 8. It didn't evoke a very deep intellectual or emotional connection with me, but it was definitely thought-provoking at times. The cast, though very good, there were fleeting moments when I felt they didn't accentuate all the nuances in the writing. Perhaps the director had different interpretation/didn't see them, I don't know. Of course, I didn't understand all of it too, what they were trying to say, the writer, actors, director...
I have been trying to satisfy myself with mediocre/okay dramas for awhile now because I am tired of being disappointed with almost everything. This reminded me of what a high quality drama is like again.

I'm actually planning on re-watching the older jdoramas...
For some reason, the older dramas was a lot more entertaining than the newer ones being release the past few years.
The downside is the video quality - fade colors and grainy pictures on most of them. _________________

That's what I'm in the midst of doing too, the older ones seem to be so much better. Seems as though the stories are better and so is the acting, seems as though a requirement these days is to have some J-Popper in a drama, especially an Arashi member. And one other thing which may seem minor but older ones have less of a reliance on cellphones, the characters met face to face which gave their conversations so much more meaning, these cellphone conversations take away from the characters depth, least to me. And you hit it on the nail with the quality, new ones are fantastic quality wise, some of these older ones are truly bad, I mean really bad, still doesn't stop me from watching them but it's difficult at times, especially some of the older subs. _________________

hehehe. I have some older dramas like "News no Onna" and "With Love" - you cant even tell if they're colored or B/W because its quite faded, lol.
I'm trying to look for my copy of "Omiai Kekkon" - I wanted to rewatch it but couldnt figure out where I placed it. _________________

Finished Mop Girl. It's good but I feel the series lacks closure. I also found Tanihara's obsession with foreign women to be eyerolling and cheesy at times. However, I still liked the main characters. _________________

Re-watching Nanisama!!! I remembered how i like this series!!!
Matsuyuki Yasuko's character in this series is really good.
I'd like to watch more of Matsuyuki like Ideal Boss but i don't know where to get them.
Does anyone know of a site that sells and have huge collection of jdoramas - especiallythe older ones? _________________

I think Geezer has a heap of the older J-dramas... Not sure if he's trading anymore.
Didn't enjoy this as much as JIN, but still worth a watch if you enjoyed the first part. Ties up all the loose ends. Always tough to beat the original.

Finished Nanisama! - really liked this drama.
Was hoping for omiai kekkon next but since im having trouble with logistics, lol, Ive started Gold.
Watched 2 eps so far and I am liking it - its quite unique since I dont think I've seen a drama resembling the story line before.
Problem is, there's only 5 subs out and I dont know where to get the rest of it. _________________

^^ The subs for anything past episode 5 aren't done yet, been waiting for them too.
Ugh, looks like its going to be a long wait since there are no subs released in a while after ep5.
I tried using the japanese subs and translated it via google translate - but the translation didnt come out good. _________________

Its a downer when u had to stop watching a series half way coz of subs...
I hope it gets subbed soon.
yeah, google translate doesnt work well
On another note, I cant help but think that Masami Nagasawas' character in Gold is a much better fit for Ayase Haruka. I'm a fan of both - jsut that I'm more accustomed to seeing Ayase doing these type of roles. _________________
