Seven books, seven movies. The last movie was split into two, however, because there was too much content to cover in just one. Great movies overall.

No one who has read both Harry Potter and Twilight would put them in the same category. To quote Steven King: gHarry Potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity. Twilight is about how important it is to have a boyfriend.h Beaten

Not just teens: I saw on the news some middle-aged woman had been camped out for the first screening. Crazy

Yeah I can't beilve how crazy all this twilight hype is! I see girls all the time wearing the guys on their shirt, or shirts saying vegitarian vampire o.o(I'm still wondering what that means cause vampiers like blood right?) but there is one girl I know to and its all she can talk about....

Twilight isn't about Vampires. The author just stole the name for a new species she created. Now Bram Stoker, he's got the true vamps.

I adored Anne Rice's books. She did some great ones about other subjects as well. The Feast Of All Saints was an extraordinary novel.

Actually my favorite Tom Cruise role was when he played that egocentric vamp Lestat. Suited him. hehe

I really enjoyed that one.

Think I've read everything she wrote in her early years.

Got my husbands daughter to actually read a book by giving her a copy of The Mummy. Victory! Peace!

Warner Offering "Akira" Colonel Role to Ken Watanabe
Studio may have better casting than Oldman up its sleeve

Joseph Luster
November 23, 2011

Would ya look at that. Just days after Gary Oldman\who was previously reported to have been offered the role of The Colonel\spoke about his availability for Akira, Warner Bros. is apparently now offering the role to Ken Watanabe (Inception, The Last Samurai, Batman Begins).

Those who are looking for actors more suited to the original setting should be pleased about this one, and it makes sense for Warner, as well. All but two of Watanabe's American efforts have been Warner Bros. productions, and he's a Japanese actor with a proven track record in Hollywood films.

Just like other offers, this is nothing concrete and anything could happen, but it serves as an interesting counter to the Gary Oldman choice for Colonel Shikishima. What do you think about the potential of Ken Watanabe in the live-action Akira?

Actually it's worse than that. Apparently his character's only role in the movie will be to hand out arcade tokens at the video game center in the film.
