Nostalgia can be good sometimes.
Don't know if I can call it nostalgic. Talk to him almost daily. My husband says we should be a radio show. The range of topics go from witty to somehow horrifying. _________________

Sounds like a good friend.
Indeed. He was toastmaster at our wedding. My husband wished he'd asked him to be best man but they had never met before in person. Just chatted on the phone.
The day before the ceremony my husband is riding up the elevator in a panic over who knows what and apologizes to a total stranger for being in such a state as ge flies into the elevator.
The stranger says to him, "I know, that's because you're, and says my husbands name. "
Husband is stunned and just stares.
My pal totally dead pan then says "I know because I'm , and said him own name.

BMW,
You almost broke my heart with that photo of the Toastmaster.
When we first came to US and moved from Manhattan after one year, our new landlady presented us with that beautiful toaster. It gave great toast and good service for many years. Maybe fiftyfive years at least. It could not be fixed but I kept it nice and shiny on the counter and for years I have tried to find as good a toaster without avail. I don't think they make them at that firm any more.

You had to be there to appreciate being three thousand miles from England Home and Beauty living in Bayside, Long Island. A gift no less....
If you've never had a Toastmaster..well you wouldn't understand
Rations for food even after the war. Coupons for a chocolate bar. coupons for clothing..utility. Grudging allowances for furniture. Couldn't buy a car... not enough petrol allowance. Even a B25 BSA motorcycle gets a bit hairy in the winter in UK.

Eve said it...It was a Toastmaster.
My grandparents had one too.
A for rationing quite a few people in the South would benefit from some food rationing. They grow quite large down here. _________________
