We had karaage as well.
Heh, my aunt and uncle weren't very impressed by the chashu...
My cousin's daughter inhaled her miso ramen, though.

Yes, the chashu at Mottainai is mediocre...that's why I always get the Miso Ramen because the little meat that's in there is ground or julienne cut pork so it doesn't a focal point in the bowl...their wok fired combination of 4 types of miso is what makes the bowl shine.
Best chashu is at Tsujita LA on Sawtelle in my opinion.

Miso ramen sounds completely delicious.
They dont have that here in the backwoods.
though yet another Japanese sushi/hibachi house opened up. Across the street from the most popular one in town. Not really getting it.
The new places space is really fancy and expensive.
thats alot of bentos.
OT: ABout to watch a few quite minutes of BAkumatsu (no writing the whole name ) after babysitting for 2 pomerians and a 3 month old shepherd. I put them in their crate fo the night. They are all cute but need so much attention. My cat and dog are on strike. It was pretty funny. They lay in chairs next to each other on the other side of the room obviously joining forces in disapproval. I feel for them. Its a crowded CHristmas. Poor things. And BTW mine dont need crating. THey are civilized. _________________

I'll need to check it out one of these days... Up to this point, the best I've had was from Daikokuya.

Daikokuya is right up there, call it a tie. The toroniku ramen at Santouka has the only other chashu that is worth praising; its tenderness coming from the fact that the use pork cheek.

Cool.
Anime can be quite serious and poignant... Grave of the Fireflies and Princess Mononoke are prime examples. |
I loved the TAle Of Genji too. _________________

Don't know whether it'll be quicker to warm up the house by turning on the furnace or setting the house on fire..... |
Welcome. My house is like that every morning.

It's pretty nice out at the moment... Unless you're in the shade.

Yes, I was fortunate to step outside while taking care of a few errands. It's warmer outside than it is inside, truth be told!

The vid was very helpful, Tu. WE watched it a few times.
WE're using BRussel Sprouts and carrots as a base.

Nice. Videos help a lot when trying to execute a recipe sometimes.
