I watched the first episode of Densha Otoko which barely kept me interested, so I took a break from it and I'll start probably very soon Long vacation. Anyway I'm not giving up on "Densha" I have the feeling that it gets better.

I just watched the Strawberry Night special, and thought it was wonderful. I can't wait until the series is complete and subtitled so that I can start watching the rest of it. _________________

^^ That's up next, 2 more episodes to go of Atami no Sousakan which has been quite enjoyable, shame it's only 8 episodes but seeing as how it's only one case they're solving guess it's enough. Also finished Koi no Chikari which was just okay but a bit of a disappointment, Eri did a fine job but the drama itself just dragged a bit. _________________

Soredemo Ikite Yuku
I thought this was a wonderful series. I was teetering on the verge of giving up on new Japanese TV until I came across this one. It's the one that brought me back. _________________

also started Strawberry Night, another good series IMO.
I would recommend watching the special first. It's not completely necessary but it does help explain why some of the characters are the way they are and some of the things they say once you start watching the drama.
Also, re Soredemo Ikite Yuku . I thought it was the best drama of 2011. Pretty intense though.

well, ive finished 4 eps and its really quite well done. The 3 series i've been watching now does rekindle the fascinations I had with jdoramas....
@Geezer
Yeah, i should have started the special first... but since I'm half way on the tv series already, i just decided to continue on. _________________

Since a certain website disappeared it seems to get more difficult to find jdramas, so I haven't been able to find the fourth part of the third ep of Long Vacation Anyway I decided to watch something else and completely "devoured" the ten ep of Strawberry on the Shortcake. It was very good, despite I've been slightly disappointed about the ending. Now, I have to figure out what to watch next!

Thru the first 3 episodes of Strawberry Night. Not as intense as the special but still very good. I really like Takeda Tetsuya as Yuko's rival. Kimpachi Sensei can be a mean mo-fo. And I didn't know a rolled up magazine could be a lethal weapon. I suspect those two will have a big confrontation somewhere down the line.
Owing to good reviews. I did what you chaps recommended: Strawberry Night SP first and then the next 11 Episodes. I'm really not used to my Queen no Joou becoming so bitchy. Strawberry Night sounds juicy until .......They should have been more fortright with the title and call it 'Hermes Red Birkin USD10,000'.
I had hoped for 'Crapfather' and 'Dirty Mama' to come out of their disastrous script Alas, I tell myself. What a waste of time.

Shinya Shokudo, season one was one terrfic drama, one of the best I've seen in a long time, zipped right thru it and now am on season 2 of it, little different than the first season but still been a solid watch. _________________

Finished Saigo kara, , ,. Never did get a handle on Koizumi's character, but Nakai, Iijima, and Uchida were all very good. One of the better final episodes for a drama. Could there be a sequel??

I am catching up with this one, up to episode 9. So far so good, not perfect but a nice warm family drama, I am comfortable with Koizumi's character. Shame, some cliches are used but the drama is still above average. My favourite performance is by Uchida.
