We should start a betting pool on how long RIM, maker of Blackberry, will last.

I heard all new Blackberry models are being marketed as excellent egg timers.

I read somewhere that the RIM board laughed when the original iPhone was released as they thought it was a joke and that a phone couldn't possibly do all that! I'm not a fan of apple but they are good when it comes to marketing their products and really alarm bells should've been ringing at blackberry hq I feel.

I think blackberry was good when the current crop of handsets weren't available to compare it to.

I had a blackberry given to me by my cellphone company while my handset was being serviced...that thing was crap. When I got my phone back from being serviced and I asked the company about the blackberry I was told that I could keep it free of charge.

I subsequently tried to sell the phone online and was told that I would have to ship a block of sharp cheddar to the company before they would be willing to accept the blackberry.

Blackberry have a decent foothold in market here in the uk as they are popular amongst kids due to the messenger service. We're probably keeping RIM from going under, just! hehe

Tell them to send more messages because RIM just reported a quarterly loss of over half a billion dollars. That's for one quarter!

By the time the Blackberry 10 comes out, the iPhone 43 will be out.

A judge in California has blocked US sales of Samsung's Galaxy Nexus smartphones while the court decides on the firm's patent dispute with Apple.

US District Judge Lucy Koh said Apple "has shown a likelihood of establishing both infringement and validity".

Earlier this week, she barred sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in the US until the case was resolved.

However, she said that Apple would have to post bonds of nearly $100m (£64m) to enforce the rare pre-trial injunctions.

The bonds serve to secure payment of damages sustained by Samsung should it win the cases.

Samsung, the South Korean electronics giant, said it was "disappointed" by Friday's decision.

BBC news.

The whole tech world is at, or so it seems. It's tiresome to read about all the cases flying back and forth.

Well yeah but Microsoft exercised some legal muscle over its patent portfolio...as it stands now HTC pays Microsoft 5 dollars for every Android handset it sells. That's serious millions. Nothing to sneeze at.
