Saw The Amazing Spider-Man... Really good show... Aside from a couple of plot points I think were overlooked and/or underdeveloped, I think this version is superior to the 2002 Sam Raimi original.

I give The Amazing Spider-Man a 9/10.

I caught this movie too. I agree with you that it was better than the initial film project, and the few ppl I discussed it with agree. Andrew Garfield gave a more believable performance as Peter Parker and Emma Stone, as the love interest, also delivered a better performance in my opinion. She is so adorable in this film.

^ Cool. Victory! Peace!

Any of the trailers pique your interest?

The other one I forgot to mention was a remake of Total Recall with Colin Farrell in the Arnold Schwarzenegger role... Aside from the modern CGI, I thought, "Why remake this film?" Head Scratch

The films you mentioned seem sure to be hits, Dark Knight and Jack the Scientology (p)Reacher.

I'm looking forward to seeing those films, but I wanted to throw my shoe at the screen during the trailers. 20 minutes of trailers is a bit much.

It seems clearly obvious that the people in power in Hollywood aren't willing to take any risks and going with what they think are sure things... Shake Head

They should do a remake of the Benny Hill Show.

Snow white and the huntsman was a good movie visually, but of course Theron was so great.

I thought the movie was a lot of fun. Great action, and the portrayal of the Lizard was great, even without the snout.

Garfield made a great Peter physically. Peter's supposed to be very thin and lanky, so Garfield fit the ticket. I just wish the writers had given him more witty remarks, sarcasm, and a funny, silly edge. Peter Parker is a funny guy in the comics, but the movie portrayed him more serious and angsty... all the time. If they do a trilogy, this will probably change since the story for this one didn't necessarily provide a foundation for comedic dialogue.

Agreed.

I really want to hear Spidey refer to himself as "your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man." Mr Green

And one big key for me was that they made Peter smart and inventive: He designs and creates his web shooters... Victory! Peace! Applaud

I liked the fact that he didn't look like he was 29 years old and still in high school.

Yes! Because originally they were his invention. He never shot web from his own wrists, which annoyed me about the first film. Spidey's signature hand pose is due to the fact that he uses his middle and ring fingers to press the trigger that releases the web.

O! One thing that really upset me were all the spider images. Not the CGI stuff, which was expected, of course, but the real stuff they showed. Freaked me out. I HATE spiders!
