Alrighty, so I've finally sorted through my Japan pics and am starting to put them up on the site. As a create new pages, I'll post some pics here as well!
First up, my visit to Asakusa Kannon Temple. It's one of my favs!
Since this was my first temple visit after four years, I'd forgotten how to cleanse myself. I'm pretty sure I contaminated this one...
Buddha's shoe! We'll see this again in Kamakura.

For those of you who have seen the dorama "JIN", there is a main road in Edo where all the shops are. It's a much travelled road in the drama and had been in that time. In the opening credits, that market road is featured as this street in its modern state. I wonder if it really was this street. It would make sense, since at the end of this street is the temple. This street itself is within the temple grounds.
The front gate:
When I went the first time (four years ago) I had omurice at this tiny restaurant just off the main road at this temple. It's the most delicious omurice I've ever had. When we went to this temple again, my one goal was to find this restaurant again. I'm shocked at how good my memory is, because I was able to find it without any problems: considering it's tucked away on one of the many small, narrow side-streets. Too bad it was closed! I was three hours too early.

Wow, when you went to Senso-ji there were not that many people walking about....when I went back in 2004 it was like a total mob scene! Tons of ppl walking around. Your photographs have a restful aura about them.

When I went before, it was made packed, so this time around I went quite early, hence why the Omurice place was still closed.
I think it gets uber busy around lunch and then stays that way. _________________

Ah, yes. I suspected you went early because that's probably the only way you could swing taking such lovely photos in a less hurried, more contemplative fashion.
You know that Senso-ji is the most popular tourist attraction in all of Tokyo...that's why I was surprised when I saw the temple grounds in your photographs appear conspicuously quiet!

this was the one thing that surprised me about tokyo. it didn't seem as busy as i was expecting. in osaka you're fighting the crowd but tokyo seemed 'quiet'.
btw great photos wynter. _________________

Trust me there are times in Tokyo when you have to fight! I remember one time my friend and I were leaving the Park Hyatt in Shinjuku and we were walking to Shinjuku Station. Well, we picked the wrong time to try to enter the subway station.
We were literally two people walking against a tide of several thousand people pouring out of the station at the same time all walking in the opposite direction! Forward progress was futile!

Thanks, Kenji-kun!
I think it really depends on the time of day and location. Though I have to admit, overall, I found Kyoto more bustling with people this time around. And I'm not talking about attractions. I'm talking normal walk on the street busy. _________________

When you use instagram on your photos, do you go to a site online? I only ever heard of the app, which allows you to add the effects right after the photo is taken on the phone.

Hold on, let me just google it.
After you take the photo it always you to apply a series of filters to the photograph as wanted. I sometimes use third party apps like Snapseed or Camera+ to edit the photographs.
If you want to access Instagram online I recommend either Statigram or Webstagram.
