I've been checking the airfare more recently, as I'm supposed to leave in early September. Earlier today, the prices were still around $1380 or so. Just before turning off the computer for the night, I hit the "refresh" button and the same flight I had pinned at US$1460 (one stop at LAX, only 2.5-hour layover) is now US$1160. Is this a late-night deal that happens every night, or a rare sale that I need to jump on NOW?

I went ahead and bought the ticket. The price was the lowest I've seen it in years, so I didn't see a point in waiting.

i've found in the past that altering your plan by even a single day can greatly reduce the fare. yes i agree don't wait, go for it! Mr Green

Yup. The conventional wisdom is the best days to depart are Tuesday or Wednesday. In shopping for airfares over the past several years I've found that to be true. If you can fly out on a Tuesday or Wednesday you will invariably find cheaper airfares especially when compared to flying out on the weekend.

I call it the Marianas Turkey Shoot, because where ever you walk you're going to run in to someone.

I found it amusing that even though there are like six walkways, some people still chose to cut through the road. Beaten Shake Head

So did I. So we could look upon the madness from above. I had a Green Tea Frappacino, for some reason it tasted way better than the same drink here in the States. Could have been a placebo effect.

It's the ambiance, not the frapuccino... Gray water would've tasted good in Japan. Mr Green
