I LUFFED Golden Bowl! It's one of those surprise dramas, where I wasn't sure what it was about, popped it in, and was amazed at how quickly I watched it. Great fun.

Magerarenai Onna episode 1
This looks promising. I found the serious part of the story to be absorbing and there were some light-hearted moments too. Kanno Miho was very good at showing the emotions of someone who seemed emotionless on the surface, and Nagasaku Hiromi really lightened up the mood of the show.
Very much looking forward to the next episode.

Just one caveat. If you don't like Paul Anka, this could be difficult.
^^ It's Golden Bowl they are discussing, I highly recommend it, like it so much watched it 4 times, least Anka you only here for a minute every show...check out Parker Bohn III who makes a guest appearence in episode 9(?), if you know bowling you'll know who he is. _________________

Just finished Life and Bara no nai Hanaya, two really dark doramas but i enjoyed both of them.
Bara no nai Hanaya: This dorama was very good, lots of plot twists and some dark stuff. But seriously, Katori Shingo sucks, i donLt know if it was the character or the acting but Eiji(Katori Shingo) was probably the most one-sided character i have ever seen, crying or screaming he only have one facial expression and one tone of voice, this was my first dorama with Katori Shingo and it was a really disapointing performance. Naoya(Matsuda Shota) gave probably the best peace of acting in the entire dorama, when he calls Eiji in episode 10 to say goodbye, that whole scene was really awesome and by far my favorite of the show. Mio(Takeuchi Yuko) and Ono(Shaku Yumiko) both had really boring characters but at least they were good eye candy . Overall itLs a good dorama, with good plot but bad acting.
Life: This was probably the darkest dorama i have seen so far(even darker than Byakuyakou and IWGP), sometimes i really wished i was there to kick Manami(Fukuda Saki) in the head, never found such an obnoxious character. ItLs hard for me to understand how people let themselves get bullied like that, Ayumu was able to wrestle a guy for a camera and kicked a badass yankee twice, but was unable to get free of a group of girls :s... Overall the dorama is awesome, really good pace and ok acting; the only bad thing i have to say about the acting is Fukuda Saki, she was supposed to be daddyLs litle girl all the time, but every sane person would understand that she was some sick human being, she was allways with that fake smile and look in her face, you need to be really dumb not to see that, Hosoda Yoshihiko did the same thing but not so bad.
I allways say that a really good actor is the one able to pull more than one character in the same show, Fukuda Saki and Hosoda Yoshihiko both failed at that in Life, other examples i can think off failures like that are Nishikado Ryo in Last Friends and Aibu Saki in Buzzer Beat. If they wanna learn how good actors do it, they need to watch Yamada Takayuki in Byakuyakou and Matsushima Nanako in Yamato Naseshiko, thatLs how good actors play two characters in one show.
I started watchimg Last Christmas, the first episode was really boring, but i see potential in this, so iLll keep watching.

I think thats how murderers parents always are so stunned their little boy or girl could do such a thing, or simply refuse to believe it even if it was filmed.

Wow, are you really that shallow?
You can't understand how people "let themselves get bullied like that"? Have you paid attention? Ayumu did nothing, she was just marked by Manami and the whole class followed.
In this situation there is no "fighting it out". It does not matter whether you can kick like a horse or something. When it's 5 against one (boys or girls) you lose. Besides bullying is not about the physical abuse it is the mental pain that really hurts.

I am sorry, but do you really know the difference between the audience and the characters of a story?
Both characters only showed their true face to the camera or Ayumu. Daddy and class teacher never saw that of course.
I personally thought that Psycho-kun's revelation was particularly great. As a viewer you sensed that his top pupil act may hide something, but still this scene hits you like a fist in the face.
When you watch Life for a second time, you realize that all of them are over-acting a bit. This must have been the director's instruction. And I am convinced that is the reason why most scenes leave you with your yaw dropped.

Of course i realized that only Ayumu was able see ManamiLs "dark side", but the actress had that sick look and fake way of talking to everyone, not just Ayumu, of course they were trying to pass that she was daddyLs little girl, my only criticism is about the actress and not the screenplay, she needs to make the audience believe that sheLs a good person, but everytime she tried to be the "good girl" everything sounded so fake.
I agree with you on Katsumi, the way he snaped at Toda in the alley and at Manami in the classroom was really intense, and my favorite parts from that character. But the first time he was introduced i emediatly thought he was some weird guy, he didnLt even look human in that first scene where he meets Ayumu for the first time.
You are talking about numbers game in bullying, but iLm damn sure that Akira alone would kill the 5 girls bullying Ayumu, so if she can stand to him why canLt she stand to the girls, i know about the psicological matter, but that was present with Akira as well, in fact it was worse, because it envolved possible raping and killing, and i think those two matters are much worse than stomping your hand or scribling in your book.

Just watched Massugu no Otoko episode 1.
It's alright, not bad but not special either. Fukada Kyoko is pretty cute, the character suits her although her acting is just alright. Sato Ryuta is watchable but his character is a bit ... simple or single-minded. I will continue watching this but prefer Kanno Miho's Magerarenai Onna.

After a bit of a break, I've getting back into doramas. I'm half way through Ninkyo Helper. Considering it's got pretty dumb premise, a group of yakuza work in an old folk's home, it's really rather good. I was expecting a comedy but it deals with the many problems of old age in a serious and not too sentimental manner. It helps that Kusanagi Tsuyoshi is a surprisingly good actor, and Natsukawa Yui is as superb as ever.
I've also started Slow Dance, a romantic comedy with Fukatsu Eri, which basically tells you all you need to know. Nothing original whatsoever, but it's entirely watchable lighthearted stuff.

Natsukawa Yui is always watchable... And Kusanagi (who impressed me in Koi ni Ochitara) is the best actor of the SMAP bunch, IMO.

Had a little break, watched a few British series and am back to dramas.
First on my list: check out the new Miho Kanno drama (it seems to be the only drama worth checking out) and Shiroi Haru. Plus I recently downloaded Fumo Chitai and Pandora.
