Someone doing a search would pull this topic back up and get the wrong and unfair impression about his service.

I'm merging it with the Seller Reviews thread anyway, but wanted to see how it turned out first. If it was Buruburu and was unfounded, I would have just locked it ^^;
I don't know if you are new to this or not, but I'll state my opinions and some things to think about for future reference.
1) That's not a distro. Distro is for minimal (cents) profit or NONE. That site is selling fansubs, DVD rips, and TV captures (that other people captured) for profit, just like Ebayers. That is why a couple of us thought the cost was high. Buruburu may only do data DVD-R, but he'll only charge you $6 for 6 DVD-R's plus a couple bucks for shipping. In fact, you'll get more drama for the dollar, and Buruburu is too low cost to make money for his own benefit, in my opinion. Some people like the convenience or just don't know, but I prefer not to support anyone making profit from anyone else's work. Blank DVD-R's cost $1 or less. That site is charging more than $3 per disk, and the brands they use definitely cost less than that. I also like how the site's ads have links to buying DVD-R's at discounted prices WAY lower than their own prices
2) Since I've been collecting for a long time and got used to what to look for, I noticed right away that the site is suspicious. Mainly because I know the titles However, it's also on Netfirms. Netfirms provides websites for only $9.95/year. Any legit business probably wouldn't be using Netfirms, nor would a business want "nameofbusiness.netfirms.com" as their domain name. Plus, Netfirms has ads right on their site, which is annoying. In addition, there are some grammar mistakes on the site, which raises a red flag for me when looking to buy from someone. Maybe it's not a big deal to some, but spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes go "ding ding ding!!!" in my head
3) While trying to look legit, the site only takes Paypal and it's completely private, so no Safe Harbor or anything like that. With Paypal, once you pass 30 days, you can't file with Paypal to get a refund and the site owner can take your money and run. Plus, they don't offer delivery confirmation for proof of mailing, but only insurance. Insuring burned DVD-R's is absolutely useless, plus they are charging double what the USPS charges for items worth less than $100 or so. You can't make a claim for it if it's lost because it's bootleg anyway So if a package is lost or if they never even send it to you, they still have your money once 30 days passes. If they ignore your emails and don't replace your items, you really don't have much of a leg to stand on, unfortunately.
For future reference, it's best to look at the following before sending someone money for dramas:
*recommendations from other buyers with regards to reliability
*prices (Are they making money from this?)
*the look of the website in general (grammar, spelling, ads, etc.)
Also, email questions before ordering: See what kind of response you get and if it was timely. I could probably add more to that, but that was long enough

Wah.. man.. I feel for you Cogman. Really sucks to be ripped off like that. Thanks for bring this attention to me. Perhaps I should change the name of my dvd service to something less generic. Hopefully I can find some time to redesign the whole site, trying to find a "job". *sigh...
Buruburu <- recent UT @ Austin CS BS graduate. hire me.... please....
Back on track now. Thanks guys for vouching for me. It really makes me feel appreciated. But yes, seeing that $26 tab for those dvds is definitely a warning sign that it's not me. Prices here only goes down, never up. Also, you can be assured that I only dvds that I would use myself, which may cost a little more, but they'll last longer than the cheap stuff. (Currently, I'm using discs from Mitsubishi Chemical, I want to switch over to Taiyo Yudens, but that stuff is still over 80 cents a pop, which is more than I charge per disc.) My main problem right now is finding a place to sells cheap sleeves.
Once again, to all those who have submitted an order, sorry for all the delays. Everything's settled down again, all my recently hardware failures have been fixed or replaced, and no more schooling for the time being. I'll be cranking them out as fast as I can, and hopefully, after a week or two, turnaround time from submission to receiving the dvds'll be back down to 1 week. _________________

Okay, I've given Gloria props before, but she's updated her list, and I think changed her address, so:
I just completed yet another positive deal with Gloria, and I'm happy as a clam.
She's a delight to deal with, she sends what you want, and she sends it fast, and if you're buying, she doesn't charge an arm and a leg.
Gloria's list is at:

Anybody ever mention that this Elton guy is a pretty fast, and reliable trader?
Okay, yeah, I have. A dozen times. But he came through again, so thank you Elton. Always a pleasure. _________________ Manga is to Literature
