Cool... I have a cousin that did that on two separate occasions in exchange for room and board with a Japanese family... She really enjoyed it.

There's still some trading amongst the regulars here like Wynter, Eve, Anime Dad, Geezer, marspeach, and myself among others (whose names escape me at the moment)....

i'm thinking about creating a "power trader" section where the top traders are put. makes it easier for people to find the super reliable traders. power trader would go above the normal positives. what do you guys think? |
Sounds good to me...

Welcome back, geoffropuff!
Power Traders sounds like a good idea. Trading is still very prevalent as many of the older series that were only put on tapes then DVDs are still not available for DLing. Trades are active and not just amongst the regulars.
Thanx for the update. _________________

anyways, just let me know what you guys think |
If you're talking about going through this thread for positive reviews, it may be misleading.
For example, I've been trading consistently since I started, but like, it's usually with the same people (20 or so) on different occasions. Only a handful are from this site. So, when I trade with Eve, I've already posted how amazing she is, but I'm not sure I do it every time.
So because we trade - on this site - with a few people, we trade with the same people often.
Make sense?
I like the idea of Power Traders. I think it's great. But I think the best way to find out who should be listed is by asking. lol _________________

Really? Where do you find the other traders? Or do they find you?
FWIW: I think Power traders with over 12 positive trades is sufficient. _________________

They find me. Apparently you get my site with you do a google search for traders. I've been trading with new peeps that email me. _________________

Wow, you're too generous... I try to restrict my trading to people I really know... Paranoia, I guess.

I'm starting to get this way. There are only 2-3 people that I met through email that I will trade with now.
First it was because I don't have access to a PC right now that will burn (all Vista OSs), and second because I don't feel comfortable giving out my address to total strangers.
I only trade without hesitation to the regulars here, and my two email buddies. _________________

Especially hearing all those cracked stories on the news. >>shudder<<
I think this is also why I'm always hesitant to meet people from online.
But now we're off topic. _________________

It's not as bad if a group of us meet, like when krim, lillmissy, and I met up at Musha...
Wow, that seemed so long ago...

I know this is off-topic, but I just had to say that the friends that I've been visiting since early this year are people I met online and I'm so glad I met them. They share the same interests as me (Jdramas, Jpop, and now KARAOKE!!!) and I feel at home with them. That's why I think you'll definitely have a positive experience with meeting the friends you have here at Jdorama.com. _________________
