Synopsis

"I thought I might be using a lifetime's happiness in a moment. I was that happy and she was that beautiful." A young boy stands on the red earth of Australia under its blue sky. It is 17-year-old Sakutaro Matsumoto. His time with the girl comes back to him. The colored sand runs through his hands and a tear appears on his cheek. He wakes up. It's 2004 and he is 34 years old and in Japan. He thinks "I have been in a world without her for 17 years." Returning home to see his old high school for the last time before it is demolished, Saku confronts anew the loss of the love of his life, Aki, to leukemia 17 years ago. Now a medical researcher at graduate school, he has been living as if half of him died with her since then. Based on the bestselling novel that sold over 3 million copies, the past and present come together in this love story that is both pure and sad.

i never expect this drama will tear my heart into pieces..first i thought this drama is just a typical sad love story..but it absolutely not..i cried so much until i had to remind my self to stop the tears,,but i cant help it..the tears cannot stop
the story was told beautifully until i can feel what saku feel..every element is blend perfectly and when the times the two main role spend their time together, i surprisingly feel so happy for them..

very brilliantly perfect drama i ever watched..there is no doubt 1 litre of tears is a tearjerking drama..but this drama achieved more than that and even BETTER..

Better than the movie

The story is better than the movie but for the cast I prefer the movie. Even i'm a huge fan of ayase haruka but I think masami plays aki's role better than her.

Very touching

This drama left a huge impression on me. It is the kind of story that leaves a mark on you and really makes you think. The quality of the cinematography was outstanding and the acting was some of the finest that I have witnessed. Bravo!!!
