What an awesome 1st episode. Toma was good but Ohno really drove it home. He played it down to the tee. For someone who is in his first drama Ohno owned it. I got chills at the end when he gave that smirk. Toma was great when he played the conflicting emotion of having done bad in his past and now it still haunts him. Can't wait for episode 2.

Great job

watching it now.
will watch it again.. and again.. and again... and again until the next episode comes up.

it was good.

the gap between the goofy, dopey, mumbling baka Ohno and Naruse Ryo is great. i'm sorry to ever doubt your talent Ohno-san.
Toma was good too. A bit overacting at some parts but the reenactment scene was breathtaking.
I'm maybe too focusing on the leads but they are the ones who will make or break this story and the story was already well established in the original. Those who have watched Mawang should watch this too and just leave their biasness behind.

The soundtrack AND the theme song... AWESOME

i thought Code Blue was the most anticipated drama this seaon coz of Yamapi but its turns out that Maou will be the season's pick..

oh man, reading all your posts about the drama had me eager to watch it now!! poor me, i wasn't able to watch it live, much worse, i was chatting that time with another friend who happens to be watching it via keyhole, only praises of course with some fangirling are all she's been typing.. :bonk:

anyways, just wanna share the theme song for the series

Arashi - Truth (NOT the full version)

oh.. i too agree with you about the overacting part and the reenactment scene...

anyway, this is an interesting drama, from what I seen in epi 1. I never watched the korean ver b4, so not comparing... i hope this will not be another LF, with a breathtaking beginning and lackluster mid and ending...

oh boy looking like it is worth watching after all :dancing:

since it is based on marvelous original material, i believe we won't be disappointed with the storyline. the fans of the original (including me) might feel a little frustrated with the character changes and what nots but for a fresh viewer, this might just blow everyone minds away.

am very curious about the ratings. a Ghibli movie was aired on another station so the ratings might not be as high as it deserves. hopefully all the arashi fans, their boifriends, and their family were watching.

Seems kind of interesting, not sure if I could get into the plot though. I'm going to give it a try since I love Toma-san. <3

i suggest you'll wait until the hardsubbed version then. STORMYteam are doing the subs and will be on d-addicts in.. 2 or 3 days more? Not sure how fast they are subbing this.

here's a clip of the opening: http://youtube.com/watch?v=dT44KKmaAVo

aaa~ah..
Maou got 14% ratings.
I was hoping for more than 16%. That's ok. With the buzz of the satisfying pilot maybe the ratings will pick up later.
Ganbarre Maou!

Bummer! Only 14%?! We can only hope it will go up! Haven't seen the first episode since I've been waiting on subs but I can't wait to watch it :victory:

Heard that another channel was playing a studio Ghibli movie at the same time. Well, we'll just have to wait for Ep2 to know whether it will maintain or not.

Oh wow, I hadn't heard that before. I had read that it was due to the timeslot it's in. Friday night probably isn't the best time for ratings.
