I donLt dislike Kimutaku but heLs probably the most overraeted actor in Japan.
I just watched Engine and it is the exact same copy of 2004 Wonderful Life, you just change Kimutaku with Sorimachi Takashi; Koyuki with Hasegawa Kyoko and Racing with baseball. And the main plot is exactly the same: some wached out athlete with bad attitude who hates kids is putten in a situation where he have to work with kids, and then he starts to become found with the kids, falls in love with the female lead who loves kids(Koyuki and Hasekyo) and ends up a professional athlete again(Racing and Baseball). Now Engine had a 22% rating, i donLt know how much Wonderful Life had, but iLm pretty sure it wasnLt anywhere near 22%(which is a great rating).

Other thing i donLt like about him is the fact that everyone call his doramas: "the Kimutaku doramas", like the other actors are just secondary to him.
Beautiful Life for example should be a "Tokiwa Takako dorama" since she was by far the star of the show.

...end of KimutakuLs rant lol.

Probably like the drama (and the ratings), this thread is more about Kimutaku than the drama itself. :beaten:

Ah!! Now that I remember he played the main role in one of Juri chan's movie, Deguchi no nai Umi..

No wonder he looks so familiar at first..

Kawaisou, Ebizo... no one knows him?

Ichikawa Ebizo is also Matsu Takako's second cousin. They went to the same highschool. Ebizo's grandfather and Matsu's grandfather are brothers, and they are well-known kabuki actors. Ebizo and Matsu have acted together before in NHK taiga drama 1994, Hana no Ran: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v203/yanie/Matsu/hananoran_sign.jpg

I really hope Ebizo would appear again in the final episode, or maybe, in the rumored movie^^

Wow I didn't realize there was so many Kimutaku haters here. :hehe: Anyway, here's an advert of Mr. Brain that's in Shinjuku south terrace.

I wouldn't say haters... Just non-believers.

by the way, just wondering, isn't Ebizo's character a cop in the show? why would he only appear for episode 1? i thought the police station and all the cops and scientists are permanent 'features'...?
anyway, he reminded me of some characters that could fit into the HK movie - The Infernal Affairs.. or rather the Hollywood remake - The Departed.

He does look really stylish and cool... Definitely a cop.

Nope. He's a prosecutor.

^ Your sig is over the limit... Because of the text.

Just watched this.
Average. I don't get why they needed so much gadgets. Hologram brain??
Mizushima Hiro should stick with stiff characters. I'm not too keen seeing him overact as the pathetic rookie cop.
Got to agree with Kimutaku=Mc Donald's analogy. I'm lovin it =P
Looking forward to Blekt in episode 2 and wishing for more Ebizo.

Okay, fixed it. If it's still over the limit, please let me know the right size(height).

There's a rumor that Yamaguchi Tomoko will be the guest star in the finale episode. Some people said "TBS is too desperate (to get the ratings up, up and away)!" :hehe:

LOL. :hehe:

LOL 2. :hehe:

Since Blekt seems to be a universally accepted name Gackt, he/she/it should really consider changing it to Blekt.

but is he part of the police station or the crime investigative departments? I mean, the cops, forensic scientists and the prosecutors are all 'under the same roof' right? haha.. cos' i just think he is really cool. so wondering why isn't he a 'permanent feature' in the show.
i think the drama would be cooler if they made it like The Departed.

anyway, i think the discussion about kimutaku and mcdonald is really funny. :hehe: but from where i'm from, the quality of mcdonald is dropping... the burgers are now smaller than my palm, and the hotcakes taste like cardboard...the variety just stay the same as 10 years ago... :ohcrap:

So you're saying Kimutaku is similar? :beaten:

Isn't the IPS headquarters actually part of the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno Park??? I recognize the staircase and the golden doors!
7 Jun 2009, 15:26 #57
WHat??
There's Ebizo in ep 1?
And Yusuke Santamaria?
Hell, the hologram thingy and kimutaku want to be weird show distracts me so much >___<
What are they playing? Ebizo and Santamaria?

[thinking]
my goodness, he's that Takei cop??
and won't be appearing again???
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

hahaha :hehe: I'm trying hard not to imply anything here. It is up to minna to interpret.
anyway, I believe we as the audience have better analysis, much better than what happened in episode 3. I felt my intelligence has just got insulted after watching episode 3. Maybe i should be a crime investigator too.....

they say it's another galileo wannabe. but guess it's worth a try.. specially kayase is in the drama >__<

Ratings so far...

Ep1 (Hirosue Ryoko, Ichikawa Ebizo) - 24.8%
Ep2 (GACKT, Koyuki) - 22%
Ep3 (Kamenashi Kazuya, Aibu Saki) - 16.3%

I heard the audience were boycotting Ep3 due to Kame's appearance. Seem like there was this "DO NOT watch Episode 3" campaign going on at 2ch. I wonder if this is true...
