i guess everyone just wants to prove that the 176cm tall kimura takuya they have always thought of is really that tall.. if any kimutaku fan finds out that anything he used to know about kimutaku is wrong.. then the fan would kind of feel that he had not done his research well..

it's the same thing with me i guess.. i wouldn't like to know that arashi isn't actually as tall as i think them..

The problem does not lie only in Takuya, it is more global among asians: over the past years I've always noticed that the profiles of HK stars, Taiwan stars, Chinese stars in general and Japanese stars usually denote a higher height than these stars are in reality. I've made a topic about it on here a few years ago when these messageboards were different and not as popular yet. I think it is because Asians are a bit ashamed of their height, and some want to "glorify" their stars a bit. Not all heights are fakes though, I guess it depends really. Takizawa Hideaki is a beautiful type of star, a star that rose because of his boyish and cute look in Majo no Jouken, thus a shorter height would not really detract from his image and thus they don't have to lie about his height. But Kimura Takuya is more of a cool guy type and a shorter height would not fit well.
Alot of Asian's star profiles should be looked at with a degree of wariness. You just have to use common sense to seperate the fakes from the true ones. Naohito and Sorimachi are DEFINITELY 1.80 as denoted in their profiles. Takuya however is NOT taller than Nanako Matsushima and while not 1.63, he is NOT 1.76 either. There was a serious height difference between him and Takenouchi in LV, and Yutaka is 1.79 (that sounds about correct if you compare him with Sorimachi in Beach Boys and usually he is indeed a bit taller than most Asians in his dramas, but a bit shorter than the likes of Sorimachi and other tall stars so close to 179 is right). Other fakes are for example profiles of Lean Lai (183, 181, etc, lots of different reports, but a friend of mine is a big fan of his and has been to his concerts and seen him life, he's about 178).
In short: Asian Star profiles should NOT be trusted when it comes to height.

>Pemu & Minna,

I'd seen most of the Johnny's pple in J-Friends concert and KinKi Kids concerts last year.. I haven't seen Smap tho so I can't confirm about Kimura Takuya's height :(

But it's true that most of the more senior Johnny artistes' are of average height while the juniors can be really lanky!!

>Pemu
Doumoto Tsuyoshi san wa chubby.. kedo totemo kawaii da yo!!
Doumoto Tsuyoshi and Kouichi are only slightly taller than me but they look really cute and better in real *fufu* :applaud:

yeap..u r right...
i'm pretty sure that takuya is shorter than nanako
but saying that he's 163cm is way too short..
:shakehead:
5 Aug 2003, 21:53 #87
Yahh.. I think he's at least 1.68?
I'm not sure.. cos' Tsuyoshi (Doumoto NOT Kusanagi) is about 1.67 and I don't think Kimura is shorter than him.

Anyway... a puzzling thought...
I thought Shibasaki Kou's verryy tall.. like Esumi Makiko.. or Yonekura Ryokou.. but I was wrong.. checked her profile and she's only 1.60m??? But she really looks tall. :rolleyes2:

yah me too... u see when takuya stands with the other smap members... he looks abt the same height as the rest.... so he shldnt be only 1.63! and also impossible shorter than tsuyoshic saw both of them standing together and takuya is slightly taller than tsuyoshi. And tsuyoshi is really at the height of 1.67cm.. Takuya shld be around 1.68-1.72cm I think! :rolleyes2:

Yup I think so too!!! :applaud:

since it's revived.. what height you'd like your partner to be? i would say 168 and up.. anything lower would be on the same level as me already.. >__< 168 is already rather short for a guy already.. but japanese guys tend to be shorter?

I think the average height for males in Japan has gone up the last couple of decades (Hmm, I think I mentioned this before somewhere  )...

I'd prefer about 5'-6" (~168cm) or more, but I'm not that picky, particularly if she's gorgeous... :hehe:

Hmm.

This thread was more of a discussion of Artistes' height, not members...

On topic, this reminds me of threads I've seen about professional athletes.

They are almost always shorter than what is listed on official sports media.

Also, they are almost always heavier than what is listed on official sports media.

Cheers, :drink:

If Takuya Kimura is only 167 cm tall , as you say , it means that Nakai is VERY VERY short , and I don't think that he is VERY VERY short ! I believe that Takuya is around 173 cm tall and Nakai 165 cm tall ...
