Like I said I find it a much more fun to play Forza, no need to get those dreadful licenses over and over again. I wouldn't compare the games directly.

you could always rent it first, or even buy a used copy, if you're a racing fan you won't be disappointed.

on a side note, what's wrong with arcade games/racers?

oh so it's arcade then?

I rather play something more realistic.

I could care less how it looks.

Errr, I never said it was arcade :hehe:

Anyway, I'll try to describe what I really liked about Forza: the racing itself, AI is really smart, if you played Project Gotham you'll know what I mean. (did you like that?) the sense of speed is really good too.

You get to drive lots and lots of cars. Even though you need to earn them in races, and with the money you make from races, no need to get those (stupid) licenses over and over again like in GT -we are all sick of it by now. You get to win lots of great cars from the start too, depending on what races you win, one of the first cars you'll win is a Subaru. In fact you'll be forced to drive all sorts of cars, from a RX-7 to an EVO, from oldtimer to an Aston Martin Vanquish. There's special Subaru vs Evo races, downhill/hillclimb, mustlecars only races, FR only races everything you wished for.

Then there's the upgrading, even though I'm not a big tuning fan, this section is worked out pretty well.

All races are based on class, let's say your default car is a stock Honda Civic, or even a 86 :hehe: those cars are class D - you can only participate in D-class races. But when you upgrade them and turn it into a C-class vehicle, you therefore unlock the C-class races. But if you overupgrade your car by buying the best stuff, you'll end up with all S-class cars and can't race at all anymore (like a friend of mine did)

that's about it, only thing that I dont' like is the soundtrack: I replaced mine by Initial D music :naughty:

Project Gotham was alright.. it was more eye candy then anything.. was not as fun as GT for PS2.

ive been playing this game on GBA its one piece dragon dream.. its a freakin nightmare, i cant get passed to MR.1, that dumbass its so hard!! :grumble: i dont even see any walkthrough everywhere since this game just came out a few mos. ago :shamefulcry:

Forza feels nothing like an acrade game but more of a simulator, technical kind of racing...the customization is pretty sweet too. I played both games and I'll have to say Forza excels in everyway. Its definetly worth a shot.

wow, that brings back memories - Powerstone 1 was such an awesome game on Dreamcast, one of the most enjoyable games ever :dancing:

I'm not really looking forward to Xbox360 though, IMO the Xbox does fine for now, for at least another year. I think MS is too early with a new machine. The footage from the 360 games look stunning though.

I prefer Racing games and fighting games (Like Marvel Vs Capcom 2. I like the fast pace fighting). I do want to play SNK vs Capcom 2 as well....do they have this for PS2 or is it only for Xbox

I like fighting games a lot. The only RPG that I actually liked was "Skies of Arcadia" on dreamcast...oh, and "Shenmue" on dreamcast as well....well, kind of .
17 Aug 2005, 06:38 #1536
Ooh, Skies was fun, but I never took the time to beat the game :ashamed:
Shenmue is a masterpiece, sadly it will never be completed :shamefulcry:
I was not so happy with the ending of Shenmue 2 - open ending that told you basically: too bad for you, there will be no sequel either.
17 Aug 2005, 07:31 #1537
There has been talk on a Shenmue online I'm guessing a sequel but theres too much controversy around whether its going to be finished or not.
17 Aug 2005, 08:13 #1538
I think the online game is already canned :shamefulcry:
17 Aug 2005, 08:20 #1539
Oh its not canned...not yet at least thats what one of the latest of magazines of game informer said. Anyways long awaiters of The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess will have to wait till 2006. It was originally slated for holiday 2005 but its been delayed. But for the better I guess that the developers are doing this to add more content in the game.
17 Aug 2005, 08:47 #1540
Well the team that was working on Shenmue Online stated that they stopped working on the game since May. The entire division is working on another game now.

It wouldn't be a true sequel anyway, no idea what Yu Suzuki is up to these days :headscratch:
