Planning? What do u mean? Well, mostly its me, Qnuy and another 5-6 Smappies who took care of the Cinema Room's reservation. But it didn't take an organizing committee for this.

Actually we had done quite big gatherings, twice....that we aim for those who don't know Smappies will come to love them, after watching the SMAP shows

I would LOVE to invite Smappies abroad sometimes....haha.... But would you come to Jakarta?? S.

Just reading all of that and seeing those pictures, I was just thinking about it at work. I have so many times where I want to share smap, it's so differnt sharing and promoting in real life than it is on the net! Back when it was my 12th birthday it was all SMAP with SMAP invites and smap party plates and just stupid stuff, my parents did anything I want back then, and I went to a private Vietnamese school (I'm not vietnamese, don't ask!) and no one came. Very bad birthday year. Infact, I have lots of friends who like JE but I usually have to show them, and I start out with SMAP but once they find out there is younger bands, they like them so much more. So I live this sad little lonely life.

But yeah, annnnnnnnnnnyway. Don't worry about them other smappys, are they still giving you a hardtime. SMAP will know who are the true fans and I'm sure they apperciate the ones who welcome new and old smappie s with open arms. :woot:

True! That's why when watching those juniors and younger groups' performances, it hit me why Kanjani8 stand out from the rest coz' they're awesome live.

That will bring me back to SMAP and I'll be reminded of how I adore SMAP and their LIVEs coz' they're the best performers in JE. Kanjani8 is fast heading that way too, hopefully. :)

Yes, some I already know them for 3,5 years already and I often go to her house, some I already know since last year (like Qnuy) and we meet often(like last Sat, we celebrate Goro's bday together), some I just met on that very day, coz they're new members of our forum (*cough* You know that forum that caused me got a little trouble with another Smappy xD *cough*).

Some live close to each other. Around 6-7 Smappies that day came from out of town. But even if they live faraway, 1-2 of them chat with Smappies in Jakarta almost everyday xD Gatherings and Smappies chats are really addictive, once you do it, you will want more....and if your personality/characteristics match theirs, then you might not want to separate from them too long. Somehow, lately, 6-8 of us had a gathering every week

Actually we had done quite big gatherings, twice....that we aim for those who don't know Smappies will come to love them, after watching the SMAP shows I edited(the most interesting parts). Where some Smappies also come from out of town. And we made these little merchandise by ourselves, and give it in souvenir bags like SMAP guidebook, SmaCourt VCD, SMAP badges/pins, etc. And the souvenir bags has five colors: blue, red, pink, yellow and green. We had games and quizzes, to giveaway SMAP t-shirts, pins, mugs(that we print with SMAP animated pics, ourselves). These ones took a big organizing commitee (abt 15 smappies).

But then, I started to think that printing those merchandise by ourselves is kinda illegal...even if we don't sell it, we only give it away for free. But I'm still worried with JE's policy and Japanese law. So, I asked them, what if we stop doing these big stuff temporarily....? They agreed.
Even though I'm myself who come out with that opinion. I still miss organizing these SMAP gatherings and put on the show. Laughing together with 50-60 other people is just ....different. And the joy of organizing it coz I laughed together with other Smappies while working on the guidebook...

I would LOVE to invite Smappies abroad sometimes....haha.... But would you come to Jakarta?? :hehe: I doubt it, ne. But my dream is to make a Smappies Unofficial Fan Club for South East Asia. And we can have an annual gathering in Singapore, Jakarta, KL, Bangkok, Manila, etc. That would be exciting, no??^^

And again, if that happens...I don't know whether or not Iijima would approve something unofficial like that x)

Oh no, what am I doing....rambling like this xD Sumimaseeeen.......

Ne yanie.....i think the idea of creating and unoffiial fan club for smap abroad is really great!! And if ever its gonna happen....PLEASE COUNT ME IN!!
Oh hell...lets make an attempt to all go to their concerts next year!

I hardly listen to local songs or from US artistes anymore too, since SMAP and now Kanjani8. I've thought that I would never listen to others as well, but then the song Naniwa Iroha Bushi caught my attention, totally pawned me with its distinct enka sound and Subaru's amazing vocal, and I remembered asking around and actually thinking, "these guys couldn't e Johnny's, could they? They're so un-idollike!" :hehe:

You're welcomed to Kanjani8 thread then! :) It's amusing how many times the guests on their TV shows have commented how un-Johnnylike they are, it's becoming a joke though they definitely got the looks! Though K8's fans have doubled since the middle of this year, they don't frequent this site anymore. Our communities & forums are thriving but they don't seem that interested in this site. No idea why! :hehe:

ooh wow, smap party plates!! sounds awesome. too bad those people didn't know to appreciate it. if i had gone to your vietnamese private school and was a few years older, i would have totally came to your party.

i'm the total opposite of your friends who get interested into je. i started off with arashi but then moved onto smap. i went from young to older. while many smap fans start discovering younger je groups and oogling them, i'm oogling these older men.

hey vanessa, maybe we could meet up during vacation or something since we're both in california. which part of california are you in? i'm in southern california.

Haha, Carol that's exactly like me right now. Smap in the car, on my tv, on my PC. On the occasion when I do watch something non-Smap related it's another JE show.

wah, smappies gathering. Yanie and qnuy, it must be great that you guys can meet then do many Smap related activities with other fans!!! I hardly meet any Smap fan in my hometown, so lonely.... It's really awesome if some of us can meet one day, ne... Maybe in Smap's concert.

I got my friend into liking JE, but she likes only the younger groups... :puppydog:

Well, Subaru's voice, it's either you like it or you hate it. Some fans don't like his voice, but I like his voice very very much and Subaru himself! Again, I don't like the current Kanjani8 and I'm seriously worried about Uchi's returning. Without Uchi, K8 isn't complete, just like 4 people Smap without Goro. :shamefulcry:

Smap gatherings would be so cool. I guess in CA we have myself, Vanessa, and Elyn (in Bay Area/Nor Cal) and Ellena in So Cal. Then the next closest would be Natsu in Hawaii. Are there any more from the U.S. here?

Wow, so many smappies together. Sounds like so much fun.

Don't worry about making SMAP goods yourself. Johnny doesn't pay attention to what happens outside of Japan. That's why only non-Japanese fansites post pictures from magazines and screencaps. Most Japanese websites only post fan art and not actual pictures because Johnny prohibits the use of his artists' images on non-Johnny related material.
